Wow I'm surprised the vehicles and stuff actually looked the same as they did in the game. Hollywood has a history of fucking that kinda stuff up for no reason.

yea. i played it a decent amount in HS with my friends. they used to have huge parties with multiple tvs etc. it was ok but i definitely didnt see what set it apart either

probably just filmed a little bit to try to get backing and show what they are trying to do.

Halo was groundbreaking because it was the first time a game had vehicles in a FPS that were seemless and worked so well. Made the game have an entirly different dimension. Thats what makes the battlefield series so good.

Um...I'm fairly sure that the Halo movie talks never got past that, talks. I don't know who made this or why, but I seriously doubt this has any ties to the talks surrounding the Peter Jackson produced film.

And if it was, it's a good thing it got scrapped, that looked terrible. It looked worse than Battlefield Earth.

That's 'cause MC wasn't in that clip. It was all Marines and short shots of Brutes. If you're going to criticize, at least know what the hell you're talking about first.

The main thing that sets Halo apart from the other FPSs is . . . it successfully emulates what PC players have been experiencing for years, but on a console.

No, seriously, thats it. There were some console FPSs that had successful single player modes and fun multiplayer (see Goldeneye), but they never truly measured up to the experience (mainly multiplayer) that was achieved on PC FPSs.

Halo was able to successfully emulate the general experience on a console. It wasn't any better (and PC FPS still lead the way). Not to mention the fact that the PC games are typically full of players who have played for years with pin-pont precision with mice and ichy trigger fingers.

The only thing that has ever impressed me with Halo is their latest commercial where they say goodbye to all of the enviroments that they used to fight in.
