I am a little pissed about this. Mainly because our first away conference game is @ Carolina. Every year we seem to start strong and then it goes downhill is when Carolina is our first away conference game. Another problem is our spring break starts Saturday March 1st. Guess who we play and on NATIONAL television at that? Duke at noon on CBS. How many students do you think will stick around for that game? I have to see what cruise we are going to take first now...WHAMMY http://www.gopack.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=41959&SPID=3731&DB_OEM_ID=9200&ATCLID=1176505

Well sometimes OOC games are agreed upon a couple of years in advance, so some of these teams we probably would have faced if Herb was here or not. Lowe has said that he wants to schedule some marquee teams and that we have been in contact with some.

^^I know. I kid I kid. People did give Herb a lot of hell for easy schedules, but the ACC is strong enough to make almost any schedule difficult. At MSU will be a real good indicator of how well our young team will be. 8/23/2007 8:23:46 PM |
mcc85 Veteran 113 Posts user info edit post |
MSU game was set up by ACC & Big Ten obviously...Cincy and Seton Hall are return trips and we can blame Lee Fowler for @ ECU. New Orleans was a deal that was made when they got Monte Towe. The cupcakes I would think are Sidney's scheduling but who knows, at least he got us into a decent televised tournament this year.

There is also a potential game against Villanova, George Mason, or Kansas State who had that killer recruiting class...in that old spice.
Overall I'm not upset about the schedule. Yeah the d00k and UNC games could be better, but its not the end of the world and it could be unc's first acc game too. We do have some really sorry teams thrown in there but there are some good ooc games too.
And you're a fag if you miss the Duke game because of spring break....that is all. 8/23/2007 9:17:17 PM |

No Reynolds game listed....maybe 12/15 vs SCState is at Reynolds, but its not listed.
Almost a month without home games between New Orleans and SC State...at first I think it cant be helped because of the Old Spice Classic and the ACC/Big Ten game, but then I see "at East Carolina", and its just not acceptable.
But the biggest thing that jumps out: 21 home games last year, 18 home games this year, and yet season ticket prices will probably be higher? 8/23/2007 10:11:42 PM |

Easily? Dude do you follow college basketball? This team has a guard I would love for us to have. Stefan Curry, Dell Curry's kid. He could make any basketball team better. They have everyone back and went 29-5 last year. They give Duke scares even when they are not that good but this year they have an excellent team. Last year they beat Arizona State (poor Herb) and Charlotte and really should have beaten Maryland in the tourney.8/24/2007 12:40:48 PM |

While Lowe didn’t want to say as much, the fact that the Wolfpack is looking for high-profile opponents is an indication of where he thinks the program is headed in future seasons. Coaches with down programs look for weak opponents; teams on the rise look for challenges." |
