August 28th, 2007 ship date....can't wait. the videos and screenshots look uber. I actually just picked up Medieval II today and have been playing all night...its so much better looking then Rome and I was so addicted to rome.

I haven't played M2:TW in a few months, I have a ton of mods installed that have started screwing up my textures, I will probably just reinstall fresh when this comes out.

you can purchase and download the game now on Direct2Drive. Should be on the shelves tomorrow though if you don't like doing the download route.

i'm really disappointed in EBgames and Gamestop. They've turned into a pretty much all console store and have demolished their PC games section into one tiny little shelf.

I have noticed the Assassins are A LOT more effective than they were in regular M2TW. Even a freshly trained assassin right out of the inn will have around an 80% chance of killing priests and merchants.

Merchants are also a lot more effective, I have a few merchants in the crusades campaign making over 1000 gold a turn, and some in the Americas campaign as the Spanish making almost 3k.

I dont get any videos anymore. For anything. Well, nothing in Kingdoms has ever come up. And I dont remember the last time anything came up in MTW2

ohh, you want to turn them on.

C :\ Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\medieval2.preference.cfg

Open this file with Notepad, and then locate the last segment in the file, which is called "[video]"

Make sure assassination_movies, event_movies, infiltration_movies, and sabotage_movie all = 1

From that picture above, I sieged the city with two armies. I controlled the faction leader and the other army was controlled by my other general "something lion heart." Anyway, the point is that The army I wasn't controlling had siege towers and everything, but was not attacking the city. Anyone noticed this in Kingdoms, or is this problematic with MTW2 in general?

You mean the Mongols?

It might be because they have great cavalry, but crap infantry. And the best cavalry in the world isn't going to help you take a wall.

They are probably going to wait them out.

You mean your allies on the battle map?

It may be because of the graphical limits. If you get the "Reinforcements delayed" message, it means that the number of soldiers on the field would surpass the recommended settings, so they won't show up until there are enough soldiers killed.

The my second army that is AI controlled is there. It sets up into formation and doesn't attack the wall. It has 4 siege towers and no enemies on the walls. Also the enemy AI in the city doesnt defend the walls that the AI army is facing.
