Quote :
"In February we told you about a new band featuring four members of Codeseven. The group now has a name and a singer. Telescreen, featuring James, Jon, Matt, and Eric of Codeseven, has added Jared Draughon (Classic Case) on vocals and will play their first show on September 1st at the Lincoln Theater in Raleigh, NC. Meanwhile, Telescreen has been in and out of the studio recording some new material. One of the tracks is now available online [at their myspace]."

PS if the song is downloadable hook me up please im skeptical of this. even tho codeseven's main vocalist on the last few cds was terrible live, his album voice was beautiful.

PPS i cant believe codeseven's first cd came out 11 years ago. now i didnt get into them until around 99 so thats only 8 years ago but still time flies

The one song they posted sounds very dredg-esque...definitely in a similar vein as most of The Rescue was. Not heavy at all, lots of organ and vocals. The vocalist is very good btw.

I'm excited to see what happens though. I saw these guys countless times back in the day in Winston and they were an incredible act.

* Song isn't downloadable...

one last bump, surprised there hasnt been more people into these guys. both codeseven and classic case had a solid following.

this video of them at lincoln theatre looks great too:

loved their set last night. ive been so bored by bands live lately, and now 2 nights in a row i saw some truly unique and powerful sets by bands that are polar opposites.

yeah, watching a bunch of kids sit down at the brewery and watch this was pretty funny. They were like... "I can't see girl jeans on guys... all I hear is good music"

Correct me if I'm wrong, but these guys aren't anywhere near hardcore anymore are they?

If I'm right, why are they getting shows with heavier, louder bands? I know Classic Case and Codeseven were louder bands, but I can't imagine going to see someone like He Is Legend and then hearing Telescreen play.

codeseven stopped being a 'heavy' band prolly 4 years ago or so yea. and this new band is not heavy at all. but he is legend isnt near heavy either theyre just rock.

it works out nice to book bands together that share similar audiences but have different sounds. it gives variety at shows as well as brings in some extra fans that might not come out otherwise.

i mean youll see bands like codeseven even when they were nothing but atmospheric melodic stuff with zero heaviness opening up for btbam etc. personally i like these a show with variety better than 4 bands that sound the same. but thats just me.

thought they were awesome last night

looking forward to another chance to see them and also looking forward to an album.

for anyone that came away unimpressed, keep in mind that last night was just their 3rd show together. pretty impressive if you ask me.

I really liked Telescreen. My favorite of the three bands Jared has been in is still Classic Case, though.

and then I realized it was the guy from classic case.
