i saw it go up to 3 overtimes. and it ran into the LA game.
the LA game was suppose to be broadcasted next with guess who is starting.. OMG beckham OMG.
so my Q is, did they, or could they have cut the rest of the WNBA game and showed the soccer match? i was kind of hoping they would mainly because its womens basketball and they score 0 points in about 3 minutes of overtime play. 8/24/2007 12:30:39 PM |

better than watching soccer, only to see 0 goals in a whole game.8/24/2007 12:33:32 PM |

^^^Watching attacks and counter-attacks set up on 11 v 11 > watching blown layups
One of the all-time worst was when I made sure to be in position to watch NCSU play in the NIT this March, only to miss most of the first half b/c a wrestling meet ran over. 8/24/2007 1:02:39 PM |

^i remember that game with the wrestling match.
well i really didnt care about either game. but i was thinking about the ratings, im pretty sure millions(or thousands) would watch espnHD for the galaxy game instead of the WNBA game. so would they just cut the rest of the game off? 8/24/2007 1:08:05 PM |

ESPN always finishes the current broadcast before moving to the next one. There are obvious exceptions, such as a race in rain delay, or an event that is grossly more important than the current event. The difference of importance between the MLS and the WNBA is negligible.
That being said, it would make sense to switch ESPNHD to MLS since I believe those are all in HD, whereas WNBA games are not, and could finish out on standard ESPN. I have no idea what they did though. 8/24/2007 1:13:38 PM |

The WNBA game messed me up even worse. I flipped to the game when the channel guide said it was on, saw the WNBA game, cursed, and flipped it because I assumed the channel guide was wrong/WNBA was on instead. I even checked Fox Soccer in case the game was moved... 8/24/2007 1:17:06 PM |

Frankly I was a bit tired/frustrated, had something else I was also watching at the time, and didn't even check the time. 8/24/2007 1:22:25 PM |

I remember when the World Cup was in Korea and they cut from the last 10 mins of a U.S. group stage game to show Sportscenter for the 1st time of 100 that morning 8/24/2007 5:01:00 PM |
