That's not a bad deal. Keep in mind that those free 5 movies are chosen in an odd way. You pick one each from 5 small categories of movies. Some of the categories have no good movies in them at all. But still, 8 movies is 8 movies I guess.

just saw a similar deal for the Xbox 360 HD DVD player...$160 plus 8 free movies.

Of course, Blu Ray is reigning supreme for now.

yeah, the first 3 movies arent my kind....
so i dont know about it if i end up getting 8 movies i probably will never watch.

Well, it's pretty much one in the same. Right now, the PS3 is not only the cheapest Blu-ray player, it's also the only one that's guaranteed to be BD 1.1 compliant for the near future. If you're in the market for a Blu-ray player today, the PS3 is more or less your best (only) choice.
