I'm going to update this the entire year. Feel free to give me your thoughts.

Overrated

Texas @ #4. Michigan is the better team and frankly I feel Oklahoma, Louisville and California will all prove to be better than Texas...

Florida State @ #19. A .500 team a year ago with no sure thing at QB again. The new coaches certainly improve the team but I can't justify having them in the Top 25. If a 2nd ACC team deserves it to start the year it's BC. Of course BC is a team I don't think they will be by the end of the year, but that is no matter.

Underrated

Va Tech @ #9. They have one of the toughest defenses in the country, a very good backfield and excellent team speed. They are a QB and easier schedule away from being National title contenders. I'd put them around #6 or #7 heading in.

Arkansas @ #21. I know the controversy surrounding them makes this tough to say they are underrated but any backfield with McFadden and Jones, coupled with a nice Defense still, can't be only the 21st best team in the country.

i feel like Va Tech is a little overrated. yea they have a great defense but their offense is very questionable. If you make glennon throw will he be able to move the ball for them? i think VT is only ranked in the top 10 because they are "america's team". Brandon ore is a pretty good back but really good VT teams always have had two good backs. without a second back i see vt struggling more than people think.

America's Team?

Hilarious... Yeah, I feel bad for the people involved with the terrible tragedy and everyone is praying for everyone involved to heal and move on... however the football program has a rap sheet that even Miami would blush at and the face of the program is the most infamous person in America right now.

I'll be rooting for the school but I'll be damned if I'm rooting for the program.

well thats ESPN for you. Its actually really sad they are building up this whole thing just so people will watch the game. I mean dont get me wrong it was a terrible tragedy and my prayers go out too all the familys and friends of the victims, but i think ESPN is abusing the situation.

I think FSU is justified with the coaches they have in place, a veteran experienced QB(who may be questionable but with the new O coordinator)

their defense should be their strong suit thats for sure...and they have some decent unknown talent on the other side of the ball

I can def. see Texas up there, look what they did last year without colt mccoy who i think is the 2nd best QB in the country behind Brohm.

if anyone doesnt get respect, I think its WVU, take away their fumbles last year and you have one tremendous team, their backfield is the best in the country, no doubt.

I think Georgia is overrated (and I actually like the Bulldogs). They've lost too much on defense and their offense is not potent enough to keep them from losing ~5 games this year.

Also UNC is overrated because they are UNC.

I agree - FSU is way overrated, especially with their QB situation. And USC has also been labeled "America's team". The term has been overused to the point where it doesn't even have a real meaning anymore.

I think V Tech is the real deal this year. All of the predictions I've been seeing has them undefeated in the ACC this year. I don't know if I see that happening though. Any predictions who will beat them, if at all?

^^being ranked certainly helps...but big name programs like that always get preseason hype every single year, some more than others

^LSU OOC...somebody in the conference will beat them in Blacksburg

speaking of which, that homefield advantage is overrated...great atmosphere but doesnt mean they have any more success W/L at home than on the road
