Pool A
England
South Africa
Samoa
USA
Tonga

There are 4 groups of 5 and the top 2 go to the knockout round. The USA starts with England on Saturday. England won the last Rugby World Cup and the USA sucks really bad at rugby.

England 63 USA 10

^That is a good way of putting Saturdays game. Btw, all of the games can be seen live on Sentanta Sports. I am looking forward to some of the better games like South Africa vs England.

Argentina 17 France 12

France is the host nation and they got beat which is a shock. They usually have a pretty good team I think. The USA gets destroyed by England later today.

Don't be too surprised if the Eagles look halfway respectable out there against England. They came damn close to beating Fiji 4 years ago in the last world cup. I've played against some of the guys including Bloomfield and Hercus, they are pretty good.

England won't have their best player, Johnny Wilkinson, so they might not be as dominant as normal.

USA - 24
England - 45

Does Sammy's or any of the other bars near State have Sentanta sports? Today all of the tv's will be getting used everywhere for collegeg football, the US vs England game overlaps the NCSU vs BC game, and I have homeowrk to do. Friday I don't have to work at my job and England plays South Africa. That could be a good one to watch. I would really like to see that.

I knew very little about rugby, but i spent 3 weeks in Australia this summer and was able to soak up quite a bit. I never really acknowledged that the sport was more than barbaric, but it really is

A team of mainly amateurs is playing the defending world champions and just got a try (touchdown). This is a type of game we should be losing by 80 and with a few minutes left we're only losing 28-10.

Everyone with an interest in rugby watch this game on Versus on Monday, or DVR it.

South Africa is up 40 to 7 on Samoa right now. We have no chance at getting out of the group stage.

Hibernian-Downtown will have the matches shown, on setanta.

England had a weak display versus the USA. Or did the USA have a strong display? Regarless, USA making it out of the pool is unlikely.

This morning the samoans looked they had a chance for the first 10 minutes of the match. That all changed.

france putting in a very good performance against the irish. 20-3 with 20 minutes to go and bernard laporte (french manager) is breathing a little easier now.

Q/F: Oct 6 Aus vs Eng (1)
NZ vs Fra (2)
Oct 7 Sco vs Arg (3)
SA vs Fij (4)
Semis have the winners of (1) and (2) going up against each other. Ditto for (3) and (4)

The boks have an easy path to the finals while NZ and Aus will have to battle to get there.

Yeah it's sad to see Wales and Ireland going out so early. Ireland played awfully and didn't deserve to go through...the Welsh just didn't use their advantage when it came to setpieces against Fiji and played into their hands.

I'm crossing my fingers for another semifinal between the All Blacks and the Wallabies. I bet Byron Kelleher can't wait to get back at George Gregan for this...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65xd81cj7pA

(Gregan says "Four years more" as Australia are about to clinch the win)

Look at New Zealand's road to the finals if they make it:

Quarters - France
Semis - probably Australia
Final - probably South Africa

If they win, they deserve it.

france knock the all blacks out of the world cup!!!!

super game and the french deserved it. superb defense in the last 10-15 mins when new zealand were attacking really well. great comeback and i hope they go on to beat the english.

luke mcallister must be kicking himself. awesome in the first half but him going into the sin bin changed the match.

you get your information from where? I guarantee the both of you thought the All blacks were going to cruise through the RWC.

Not so!

bring on the Proteas, as after this RWC there will be no more spring bok.

Who gives a shit about cricket?

The final is SA vs. ENG.

Let's go back to 9/14 and look at what happened last time. What was the score again?

pool play does not equal Rugby World Cup Final.

look at the rosters. The England team is entiely different, and they are playing in an upward fashion.

think of the passion involved in the final. This is where the warriors will prove themselves.

you obviously care about cricket, you brought it up.

the SA Rugby Union is changing the name of the national team to 'the proteas' after the World Cup.

some thing about the spring bok term being a racist statement.
