non vtec when are the recommended to be done 90k or 60k?

I think it's 90k or 7 years.

Owners manual recomendation? I always do mine @ 60k, Cheap insurance

Take a look in the book. I'd be willing to bet that it's either 90k or 115k.

And in my opinion, you can go that long. The worst wear a timing belt sees? Not the high-rpm stuff. It's IDLING AND LOW-SPEED OPERATION...the valve spring load has much more "pulse" to it and shock loads the belt more. At higher speeds, it's a more uniform load on the belt.

Materials nowadays are much better than they were 20 and 30 years ago, when the 60k interval was the norm. Of course, some vehicles still have this change interval, but none that are marketed in the US.
