I'm driving Ivan's buick, I think its mostly ready to go, and I'm trying to get my 68 caddy brought down, but not sure if I'll run it or not.

we've wanted to get involved with the derby for a while. I found a car for us to use, so it's just a matter of preparing it in time.

that's the key, making sure that they don't wait until a week before the derby or um... an hour or two before we're supposed to be there... like some people do.

I honestly dont know if I have time for the shit this year, especially if we end up waiting till the last minute like before.

^^^i would advise starting ASAP on prep then. there's nothing that hard, it just takes a while. especially your first time.

^^that was a record breaking transmission swap.

yeah, i'm out for driving this year on the doctor's orders. he said there's just too big of a risk to refracture my bone. i considered ignoring him, but it's just not worth it to go through any more of this crap than i have to. plus i'm not really physically able to do the work that the cars need.

colter might drive my buick wagon since it's the closest to being ready, but i don't know.

well, now that i've got a trailer maybe we can hit some other events around the state... that's one reason i got one so big, so i could pull two derby cars.

i do still need to at least get the cars cranked up and run them a bit.

ncsukat/moparnum5: if ya'll do end up running that car, i'll be glad to help with whatever i can as far as advice, what to do for prep, or whatever. i'll tow it out there too if you need.

lets be real. you bought that trailer cause jeeps suck and you knew they would break down on the trail.

i drive the mustang to the track when i want to bea the shit out of it cause i know it will take it and make it home.

if i had a camaro i would tow it to every track cause we all know how dependable the chevy is.

lets be honest here

clicking off 8 second passes and driving from track to track ftw.

i've personally owned a 12 sec. lt1 that was daily driven. plenty of time at all the local tracks. never had any major mechanical failure.

face it, lt1/lsx cars pwn. i tried a fox body for a while, what a hunk of shit.

nigger you are comparing 3 motors.

i know the 4.6 can take as much if not more abuse than the ls1. now power is another thing. ls1 with any mod=responds like a fucking champ.
get a fucking lt1 and build the motor in it. then rag it out every day. it will not go anywhere and even if it did it would last 1 week. any chevy or ford or even a dodge guy knows this.

stock for stock an f-body will run all over a mustang on a road course. please.

or a gm 12 bolt... ford should have at least one good part to make up for all the shit elsewhere.

anytime you or anyone else is ready to run a stock fox vs a stock 3rd gen in an auto cross let me know. i know this cause i beat koystas lt1 4th gen in my old ass ragged 5.0 like 3 years ago, in sanford. i even have the plaque to prove it( i did hit 2 cones)
only ballers put 12bolts in camaros.
hell if i was baller i would put a moser in my shitbox
just like a twin turbo lsx im sure that car is driven "every day" and beat up like any other street car.
hell my next door neighbor had a tt 01gt and it was a "daily driver" but he only drove it every other week and once to the track. said he didnt want to rag it out

Actually, anyone who wants to go fast puts a 12 bolt in an f-body. The folks with Ford rears are in the minority. Anyone who wants to go fast in a Mustang must replace the transmission, build the rear, and replace just about everything on the motor also. What the fuck is your point?
You beat an F-body in an autocross. So the fact that you outran an f-body in a parking lot full of cones makes you special? Go find a real racetrack, until then stay quiet.

And go ahead and admit that the LTx/LSx cars are some of the best platforms to work with when going fast is the order of the day. Actually, the only one I could say is just as good or just maybe better is the 03-04 Cobra. But don't even start talking about Fox bodies or 2-vavle GTs, particularly if they are in anything resembling stock form.

^EXACTLY.

i've accepted an invitation to do recovery with cnc4x4, so i definitely won't be doing anything with my cars personally.

if any of you (that i know) are just dieing to be in a derby and are willing to do all the work the cars need, i would consider letting them be used. you also have to help fix whatever damage you incur also (assuming it's repairable).

Kind of ironic, but it looks like I'm going to be fishing and cutting bait.

Somebody needs to be in it this year though. Colter, man up foo. Roll the Buick battlewagon.

cnc4x4 handles all the dragging of dead cars out of the arena. a couple of the guys i know that are members asked if i wanted to help. i guess it came out sounding more glamerous than it is.

there was a girl out there last year from carolina rollergirls or whatever it is. you could do it, if any of the cars are in decent enough condition to do it, or if anyone could get them in running condition for next weekend! you've already got a helmet, all you need now is the car!

^^^yeah, like jen said one of the carolina roller derby girls drove last year. she stopped the heat and quit halfway through though, she didn't want any more. i personally gave her one hell of a hit. i was surprised she quit, i thought they were supposed to be pretty tough or whatever doing that roller derby stuff. we'll def. see about getting you in a car for the next one.

^^eh, it's about too late now to get any of the cars ready. the buick doesn't need much, but still probably more than could be finished in a few days. it hasn't even been started in a year. the biggest thing is i've loaned my trailer out this weekend since i never really heard anything from anyone.
