does anyone know anything about these apartments (rent, decor, availability)? they're the ones right across the street from Sub-Conscious. 9/16/2007 6:01:16 PM |

They're 1 bedroom only. My old roommate and I actually looked at those for Jr. year, but they're kind of pricey and like I said, 1 bedroom only. No idea what it looks like inside. Looks pretty cool from a distance, but once you actually get out of your car you can tell they're old as Methuselah's balls. 9/16/2007 6:14:10 PM |

ivy commons is okay, but i'm a little sick of my roommate smoking pot in her room and having it stink up the entire place. i'm probably going to break the lease.
are you sure every one of them is 1BR? 9/16/2007 6:15:31 PM |

Tell her she needs to open a window and put one of those square area fans blowing outward when she smokes up. 9/17/2007 2:01:35 AM |

Hardwood floors, cozy stairwells, parking lot in the back, and cool folks live there.
With that said, it's one of those places you definitely have to appreciate for what it is. 9/17/2007 2:43:21 AM |

The building is called The Wilmont, by the way, and was built in the late 1920's.
I considered living there, but the fact that it doesn't have central A/C was a problem. Cool old building and great location though. 9/17/2007 9:21:12 AM |

ive only had a gun stuck in my face and had any "valuables" on me demanded once, and it was on the top floor of that building
some girl came to the door and they opened it for her, and a guy was pushed up on her back with a gun. she claimed that he grabbed her and forced her up to gain access to the apartment
after he moved us to the back room and told us that if we looked at him we'd get shot, he proceeded to steal all the shit worth money, even made one of the guys bag up his own shit. then dude took off with all the money and watches and video games and all that, and took every phone in the house and smashed them against the wall. luckily mine still worked, so that kinda made up for my watch b eing stolen. kinda.
then the next morning the planes started raining on NYC.
i decided to never go back there and heard the same place got robbed again the next week, but this time the guy brought his friends.
this was a twwers apartment btw. surprised its not been posted yet.9/17/2007 10:44:46 AM |

they are not all 1 bedroom only. i almost lived in a 2 bedroom apartment there this semester, but found a better place on douglas st. the rooms are pretty spacious, you'll need a window unit though. they are super cheap.. the place we were looking at was $600 a month for a 2br which included water/heat. 9/17/2007 3:05:08 PM |

I did my time at the Wilmont for about 2 years. That place was the shit. Funky as hell, with all the ups and downs therein, but that place has some character(s).
There ain't nothing like those old-school radiators on a cold morning, especially since heat was included in the rent. We'd actually have to keep one of them turned off most of the time or the place would be a sauna. 9/17/2007 4:01:21 PM |
