These DVDs can cost a bit much, but I thought the extra features included with the Fear and Loathing DVD were well worth the price paid.

I don't know many of the movies on this list. If anyone sees a movie worthy recognizing, please post it.

Currently, I own:
Chasing Amy (Kevin Smith, 1997); Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (Terry Gilliam, 1998); Kagemusha (Akira Kurosawa, 1980); Man Bites Dog (Rémy Belvaux, André Bonzel & Benoît Poelvoorde , 1992); Seven Samurai (Akira Kurosawa, 1954)

I would consider purchasing:
Beastie Boys Video Anthology (Various, 2000); The Complete Monterey Pop Festival (D. A. Pennebaker); Insomnia (Erik Skjoldbjærg, 1997); The Last Temptation of Christ (Martin Scorsese, 1988); The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (Wes Anderson, 2004); Monty Python's Life of Brian (Terry Jones, 1979); Ran (Akira Kurosawa, 1985); Rashomon (Akira Kurosawa, 1950); The Royal Tenenbaum (Wes Anderson, 2001); Rushmore (Wes Anderson, 1998); Solaris (Andrei Tarkovsky, 1972); Spartacus (Stanley Kubrick, 1960); The Third Man (Carol Reed, 1949); Throne of Blood (Akira Kurosawa, 1957)

Thank you for your time and your bandwidth.

Ya, there are others I would have put under considered purchases; however, I figured my list was sufficiently long enough.

I think I only own Ikiru and The Royal Tenenbaums.

That sounds terrible... Their DVDs are awesome but they can be so goddamn expensive. I mostly just rely on getting Criterion editions from Netflix all the time, but it's rare that I buy one unless I fall in love with a movie. The next one I buy is totally going to be:

[Edited on September 20, 2007 at 10:00 PM. Reason : As it is, though, it's very stupid that I don't already have The Last Temptation of Christ.]

Ha, he will need a ton of money...back when you actually saw legitimate copies of Salo on Ebay, it was usually going for $500+. And there are a few more Criterions that go for a decent price too.

I have:
2 - Seven Samurai
3 - The Lady Vanishes
5 - The 400 Blows
10 - Walkabout
11 - The Seventh Seal
12 - This is Spinal Tap
47 - Insomnia
56 - The 39 Steps
61 - Monty Python's Life of Brian
64 - The Third Man
70 - The Last Temptation of Christ
75 - Chasing Amy
108 - The Rock
135 - Rebecca
136 - Spellbound
137 - Notorious
151 - Traffic
157 - The Royal Tenenbaums
186 - Stolen Kisses
187 - Bed and Board
188 - Love on the Run
300 - The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou

I still need to get Charade, Brazil, Spartacus, M, and Dazed and Confused.

Yeah I saw that Breathless was on it's way to Criterion, but they need to put My Life To Live on there.

pretty much everything

for instance

the regular rushmore dvd has trailers as special features

the criterion dvd of rushmore has trailers, screen tests, an episode of charlie rose, all of the mtv promo shorts that wes anderson directed, a production shot gallery, storyboards, and a whole shitload of exclusive illustrations by wes anderson's brother
