now I know this is his first season but there are not any good signs and things that have nothing to do with him just taking over are looking terrible so don't make excuses. sure we don't have a good qb and have a bad o-line but the coaches don't even bother putting them in the best positions

WE GAVE UP IN THE 3rd QUARTER. Can you really blame the ~40 thousand fans that left early? they weren't going to at least have the honor to watch a coaching staff ATTEMPT to make a comeback. We ran the no huddle shotgun and went right down the field with 6 minutes left in the first half to score our only td of the game...AND NEVER WENT BACK TO THE ONLY THING THAT WORKED. Down 3 scores late in the 3rd and in the 4th quarter why are we in an ace running up the middle? why are we still running when time is key and the run has never worked? have we even had a successful run play this season? we take about 8 minutes to score (at this point theres not enough time) and then we spread the field for the 2 point conversion? 5wrs? pick 2? theres 3 yards to get you just ran running plays and flat passes in the passing situation and threw underneath now you want to spread them out on a PAT and make the qb make a play? none of this really mattered because the game was well over but i would like to see a team attempt to comeback and not watch coaches give up in the 3rd quarter.

our Zone Defense?
This has to be the worst defensive ideology i've ever witnessed. we are rushing four, the qb has all day to throw AND EVERYONES OPEN EVERY PLAY. nobody can tackle the defense just isn't fired up at all it's like they partied all night or something. heaven forbid the qb with all day actually miss an open wr and hit a defender in the head because he won't catch it. last possession of a game teams usually look to gain momentum for next week but we know they are running and can't stop anything for 8 minutes?



say what you want about chuck but things were never this bad under his watch(never in ncstate football history for that matter) and WE WERE ALMOST THERE. our program was so close to being great. we were losing games by inches even last year all of our games came down to the last possession, bounce, mark. We beat 2 top 25 teams in a row. We won bowl games. One roll of a dice and we could have just as easly been 9-3. chucks teams never gave up midgame almost every game was played until the final possession also and now we've thrown years of hard work and program building away for THIS? this year we get rag tagged by every opponent and may not win a real game this season (woffords AA). the players don't believe in the coach, never have and it shows on the field. nobody is fired up. I rather have fired up players committing 100 penalties and playing well than this any day. all great programs in history had tons of penalties in their glory days. they sent a message to the other team and played with wreckless aggression. (fsu miami etc)

A coach can't play and getting outplayed by a superior team is fine but when the coach doesn't put the players in position to play to their best potential then he is not doing his job and we haven't even come close yet this season. i'm not saying we should be undefeated because we shouldn't but we shouldn't be down 20 points in every single game either.

chuck put our players in position to win every game bottom line.

meanwhile unc ecu, app state, wake and even duke are all on the ball and are programs on the rise. we are easily the worst team in the state of north carolina and the acc which are both easily the worst conference and state in football. I feel like we are almost forever cast into the football abyss.

how many years will it actually take before the next coach gets things going?
the main reason i'm mad is because this isn't a one year thing. the guy has never been a great coach. always mediocre. bc's record right now proves that. all these years will be wasted destroying the foundation amato built and by the time we reasonably can fire this guy and get somebody else (who hopefully will be a good hire) everything will be gone

ya games where the players were coached into a position to win down the wire and things just didn't go our way. not 1 of those games did we get dominated across the board AND GIVE UP early in the 2nd half.

those games that were lost by mere inches. all this after years of dominance. dominant offenses and defenses. several nfl draftees. phenomenal record vs top 25 teams. owning florida state and a national level of respect. Espn picked up our games, gameday guys always picked us to win.

We had our foot in the door and fired our hero because marcus stone didn't pan out. lame.

and you know what the worst part is? when we loss 7 in arow after beating 2 top 20 teams we probably loss those 7 in a row by a total less than we lost today. pathetic.'

You can blame chuck. These are his recruits. Chuck couldn't win with his recruits. He won mostly with O'Cains recruits, including Philip Rivers.

Chuck didn't help the program, he set it up to crash and burn. We were no better off with him and trust me when I say we are much better off with out him.

Yeah, Im probably one of the only fans who continuously leave my NCSU flag flying up on my car whether we're 0-12 or 11-1...however with all of this said...

until O'brien can get HIS type of players at every position, primarily the QB, O-line, etc. positions..then we will continue to see scrub play at certain positions. I love my mighty Wolfpack..but giving up 17 points to Wofford is unacceptable, but as with all new coaches one needs TIME....yes TIME to
get your type of players into your system. I know no knowledgeable Pack fan was expecting us to go 5-1 in ACC play this season..now by the start of the 2009 season.. I will TRULY expect us to blow all of the ACC teams out of the fucking water...GO PACK!! I just have to keep telling myself to be patient....
O'brien was a good hire..just give him the same amount of time we gave that Amato fellow. Rome was not built in a day folks!

Wake is worse this year than last. Yeah they are better than their "typical" history, but they will not repeat as ACC champs so they are not necessarily on the rise. Duke hadn't won in three years so it's not hard to be on the rise. App State has been good for a while, UNC is still 1-3, and ECU is better, but still got smashed by a superior team today.

Yeah we suck and suck huge, but acting like we are vastly worse than the rest of the teams in NC is just plain silly.

The teams we have played so far have a combine record of 10-2 with the only loses being Wofford against us and UCF against #6 Texas. Our SOS through the first 4 games is ranked in the Top 20 in the country.
