Hate to wreck your world, but excellent customer service is not synonymous with the BestBuy brand.

Antagonizing your customers, treating them like stupid children, ignoring them, not knowing your own policies, pushing service contracts and upselling garbage, now THAT is the BestBuy Brand.

Noen wins.

BestBuys customer service is utter shit. If I say I don't want the warranty/service plan, leave me the fuck alone about the warranty/service plan. If I ask 3 different people in the store the same question and get 3 different answers...I believe you need to do a little better training.

I used to work at best buy and was always number 1 in sales in the comp. dept. and i got to say....everytime I go in there I get greeted by the worst possible sales people i've ever encountered. They are in serious need of training. When they approach you they do it all wrong and they let me off without ever inquiring about what i'm in best buy looking for in the first place.

^I've had maybe 2 good sales people help me in the 10 or so years I've shopped there. Compared to the hundreds of drones and borderline retards.

Don't forget about stealing porn from customer's hard drives and setting up cellphones to videotape women in the bathroom.

Yeah, I used to work at Best Buy in the car audio sales/installation departments. They DO put you through pretty extensive sales training. I was kind of impressed with all of that. However, nobody ever uses those tactics that they teach you and overall most of the people that work there are completely clueless as to the products that they're selling.

a lot of people that work at best buy are there for

A) the discount
B) they'd be working at target or wal-mart if they got a call back sooner from those places

usually the better sales people are the ones in it for a career but they don't last long because they get promoted out of the lonely salesman position

^^^ Is that for the in-home? The in-home rates are pretty ridiculous. I work for Geek Squad and our in-store OS Install is $129.

I worked at BB... I was the only person in the Car audio, and later the video department that knew how to properly hook ANYTHING up... the rest were very good at selling shit, anything to just sell SOMETHING... I could justify with a scientific reason anything I was trying to sell you... (and I maintained really good "numbers")

I was in it for the discount...

^again, labor is not cheap in this country. If someone came up with a 3 day turn around time computer service that involved shipping your computer off to India and back then we'd see a lot lower prices

Look at any service that involves labor charges and its an ass rape. Mechanics, construction, home improvement, lawn service, computers etc etc

fucking unions is why all the cheap labor in this country has been shipped to India and China. My grandfather swears by the union, but unions were only effective PRE global economy, now that the ENTIRE WORLD has started throwing their hat in on the game the whole economic marketplace has radically and dramitically changed.

NOW, outsourcing without consideration is the dumbest thing that you can possibly do... B/c you have to consider many many many factors into the equation which I'm absolutely POSSITIVE that all companies HAVEN"T done... BUT you calculate the overseas manufactuiring cost + shipping + recall/lawsuits cost and if THAT is cheaper than the fucking $25/hr that american unions want then FUCKING DO it...

why the FUCK should we pay some highschool educated dumbshit $25/hr to sit on an assembly line and do a MINDLESS job for 8hrs when we can do the same for $0.35/hr in china + $2 shipping...

Vs bob the plumber is local and gets $25/hr b/c he can actually fix your shit locally and quickly... and likewise the "geek squad"

jeebus I'm ranting... but it's all weighted in various ways... (this came about b/c you were talking about hourly rates in the US)

[Edited on September 24, 2007 at 1:43 PM. Reason : gotta tie my rant back together (I'm wasted)]
