of course there has to be an Al

so.... when he travels, does he get younger?

no, i guess not, because in 1988 he would be 20 years younger.... but that would make it tricky for him to interact with people 7 years ago

yeah, i was about to say, NBC did good.
I don't know if Chuck or Journeyman are going to be blockbusters, but they are entertaining bookends to Heros.

So how is it that he doesn't look 10-20 yrs older to his friends/family when he interacts with them in the past?

PS - Hearing Lucius Vorenus with an American accent is WEEEEEEEIRD

the only time he directly interacted with his family/friends in the past was in 1999 (or was it 1997.....).
So... "only" 10 years younger then. But yeah, the point stands. They didn't make any effort to try to make the 1999 version look any younger, and somehow the 2007 version was able to walk right into the group and nobody noticed his clothes or his aging or anything.

At first I was thinking he would get/look younger when he goes back, but of course that wouldn't work for very long before he got too young. Plus, he already went back to the late 80's the first time and he was definitely the same age.

Running into yourself in the past just creates too many paradoxes. I am guessing (hoping?) they will stay away from that plot-line in the future. Of course, unless the season culminates in trying to prevent his ex-wife/fiance's death or something

^He meet his ex in the staircase and she said she never got on the plane. She apparently can time travel, as well. Like I said, Early Edition rehash with a conspiracy thrown in.

Well yeah that was this episode but I would expect that throughout future episodes he is going to encounter his brother, wife, and ex-gf at various points in time and he's gonna look exactly the same age for all of them. It's too big of a plot hole to not address though, so maybe whatever "force" sends him back in time creates some kind of psychic field to make him look younger. That would mean that he is only limited to time travel within the past ~30 years before he ends up as a kid though.

yeah, at some point i was kind of expecting him to look in a mirror and see a younger guy or something.

i still say it just makes things way too complicated if he is allowed to interact with his past self and people who know him.

but if there isn't some sort of overarching purpose to his time traveling, it's gonna lose steam quickly

i like this show too, i dont know if it will lose steam that quickly. Its nice to have a show that doesn't have some deep intertwined plot that makes missing one episode impossible to make up.

Looks like they've got him looking exactly the same; in today's episode, Tanna commented on how he hadn't changed at all.

Well I guess they are just gonna have to keep having him sneak around. I'm glad that they addressed the "counterfeit" $20 bill, I was beginning to wonder about that. Also, was it me or was the cop that chased him in 1995 his brother?

I'm watching for Kellerman.

i liked the second episode as well - i'm starting to think that maybe there is something that is controlling who gets saved/helped - as if in an alternate universe this is what happened and it worked out well so you should fix it in your universe as well

i am also interested to find out where livia is really living or if she hops all the time now

yeah - some sort of hole with phone calls? i'd like some explanation on it but i doubt we'll get one - it was probably just setting up the possibility for it to happen in case they want to use it later - or in case they already decided to and just needed way to make it believable in this world

not necessarily a different number

but i got the impression that dr. timetravel was also in 1997 when he placed the call

or maybe dr. timetravel has a multi-dimensional cell phone plan

ok i thought last night's episode was really good but I was let down at the end. Why did he have to save the girl, yeah she was gonna go down for murder but so what...they never gave us a reason to need her in the future. That was one thing that really got on my nerves. I wanted to know why she was so special, i'm glad they were able to help her out and all but nothing about her future self made a difference or was explained.

I think this is in general what is wrong with this show. Mostly, the whole going back in time thing seems to be a ploy so that the writers can write about how its affecting his current life. There seems to be no higher purpose for his time travels. The writers better quickly figure out what the hell the point of the show is or they're going to lose a whole lot of audience.
