Just had it in NYC. Fucking Awesome ... Homemade strawberry jam and macedamia nut butter on this homemade french bread. Served heated. It was worth every penny. More of a dessert. Had it for lunch at this fancy manhattan restaurant. 9/29/2007 7:51:32 PM |

whole and fresh are different... once it cooks down a bit the strawberries will be soft and mushy, but still whole...
it was likely made with frozen strawberries as well, along with some orange juice/zest and sugar... that's about all it takes to make strawberry jelly/jam 9/29/2007 8:35:59 PM |

that "sandwich" looks pretty rough... when you can't identify what the layers are, it's not a good thing 9/29/2007 8:40:47 PM |

i am guessing one layer is the "jam" and the other is the "nut butter"... and the two crusty looking ones are some version of bread...
looks like a gelee rather than a jam, with that consistency though 9/29/2007 8:44:32 PM |

That's like triple redundancy right there.

So I wanted a PB&J sammich tonight, but I wanted crunchy peanut butter. I only had creamy peanut butter.
So I broke up part of one of those big Snyder's of Hannover pretzels into little pieces and sprinkled it on top of the peanut butter.
It was a fantastic idea, gave it an amazing crunch. 10/1/2007 2:26:16 AM |
