vs.

Indians Regular Season Record (96-66) Versus Red Sox (2-5)

Red Sox Regular Season Record (96-66) Versus Indians (5-2)

These 2 teams finished with identical records. The Indians are one of the hottest teams in baseball. Their September was awesome. The Red Sox cruised in the 2nd half of the year but seem to have regained their early season swagger. Pitching matchups will be key in this series.

It should be C.C. vs. Beckett

Fausto vs. Schilling

Byrd/Westbrook vs. Dice-K

Byrd/Westbrook vs. Wakefield

Bullpens are both very good for both teams. I would give the Sox the edge on Closer because Borowski is so erratic.

Hitting Boston has more thunder but Cleveland is a good hitting team.

Prediction Boston in 7 this will be a grueling series

and we will see this in Beantown in Game 7

I think this is gonna be a great series between the two best teams in BASEBALL, not just the AL. This could be the real world series as whoever wins will likely roll over the Rockies or D-Backs in the championship.

These two teams are as identical as you can get, with good starting pitching, bullpens and lineups that can produce runs from top to bottom. I think its all going to come down to who can strike first and build the most momentum early in the series.

with that said, good luck Red Sox, but GO TRIBE!!

I thought Wakefield got left off the postseason roster?? I think the Red Sox will take this series, but it should be a 6 or 7 game series.

I figured a guy with a user name BigPapa would be a Sox fan since it sounds like Big Papi.

^^ sour apples eh?

sucks to be a yankees fan. you either get to pull for your most hated rival or the team that dismantled you in the division series.

Man I don't know what you're talking about.

Doesn't suck that much, and this is about as big of a no-brainer as you can get.

Go Indians.

^^Ribs....you are correct dude....but what I hate the most is the fact that we lost to what is in my opinion an inferior team, but hey cudo's to the tribe they stepped up we didn't. At this point I would love to see the Rockies win it all......

gforce, for the sake of conversation, if we beat the red sox to go to the world series would you still think of us as an inferior team?

^^ Ha ha inferior team that took 3 out of 4 games and had a 3 run lead in the one game they lost. Maybe inferior in that you did not know half of the Indian player's names before the series started, but certainly not inferior in terms of a team.

Well let me put in perspective what I meant.....I thought while and before we played you (the tribe) we were a better team. You kicked our tails in and proved that not to be the case. So what I meant was I felt at the time we were losing to an inferior team.....it's all about match up's.....and unfortunately for you Cleveland does not (in my opinion) match up well with the Redsox. But we will see....Hope that clarify s what I meant...

^ The yankees did play well against the Tribe in the regular season, but the Yanks starting pitching just was not up to par in this series. Clearly Mussina is done, Clemens is done, Wang shouldn't have gone on 3 days rest, and Pettitte is no longer an ace.

Plus the Yankees have got to get rid of some guys like Giambi and Damon and bring in more young guys like Cabrera and Cano. I know Damon had the big hit in Game 3, but he looked slow in the field and his girl arm is a serious defensive liability. Giambi is nothing more than an expensive DH now.

Agree...expect about Pettite....think he is still a 2 or 3 with most teams....and was stunning in the 6 innings he pitched....

i see what you are saying gforce.

about the upcoming series, as an indians fan we have to ride CC and fausto. 3-1 would be the worst record they could have and us somehow still get through the sox. It comes down to can byrd/westbrook take a game 3 in cleveland against dice k? if it's byrdie i think we have a chance, westbrook is a toss up at best.

I cant wait till tonight. I have to work but we'll have it on at the bar so I should be able to keep tabs on what is going on with the game.

I saw on espn a minute ago that bobby kielty will get the start in right over JD Drew because he has had success against the big man in the past. I dont know that much about kielty. Is right field exposed now for a our lefties?

Grady and Pronk are for sure. Cabrara and Lofton can go the other way with the ball. V Mart is a switch hitter.

GO TRIBE!

I called my grandma back home and she's all amped up. She bought a new 42" flat screen this year so she could watch her indians games in Hi-Def. Now that's a fan. 80 years old and doesn't miss a game.

CC ftw

C'mon now Kielty isn't that much of a defensive liability he's not Trot, anyways JD sucks against lefties. Once we chase CC Drew will be back in.

oh yeah I'm definetly getting excited about the game tonight. I think its going to be a pitching duel up until the 6th or 7th inning, then I think the game will be determined by how well the middle relievers for each team can handle the lineups/pressure

all in all, I think this will be a great game and series

GO TRIBE!!!!!

Seriously it is getting out of hand how many people who claim or say to be "SOX" fans.

Some people I know have a real team and then say they like the Sox too and it is because their real team sucks. (That is you Braves fans.) Oh I don't like the Braves anymore I like the Red Sox now.

anyone who is a casual baseball fan loves the sox and/or yankees

I was at a bar with some mutual friends one time and one of the guys that my buddy brought along was watching one of the games on tv and had a sox hat on and so I asked "you a sox fan?" Dude goes (swear to god) "I root for the sox and the yankees" I then proceeded to chuckle because I thought he was joking, but he totally wasn't. He said he liked both teams. Needless to say I didnt' talk to him the rest of the night.

^ I'm casual and I'm a Reds fan.

The reason I'm casual is the Reds have sucked for 12 years now.

Manny's about to hit into a double play.

^ Lopez and Lester too.

Going into the bottom of the 11th, in the past 5-2/3 innings across 3 pitchers, the Red Sox have 1 hit and no walks. Cleveland's bullpen dominated.

Well at least the Red Sox are still playing TKE-Teg.

Last night Dice-K made one big mistake he pitched pretty well outside of that mistake to Lofton. Lofton was sitting Fastball down and he got it.

Well if the Knuckleball is dancing tonight it should be an entertaining game. This could be a 15-14 game.

Also don't punch your WS tickets yet Tribe fans, the Sox have come from behind before. I still think it will go the full 7 and whoever wins the series will beat the Rockies in 5.
