The demo is out.


I'm kinda disappointed with some of the weapons now. The flak cannon just seems off, like they added a huge delay to the firing which makes it useless.

Anyone else a UT fan?

A friend of mine is beta testing at Epic and he says that Mark Rein (VP at Epic) absolutely hates the game. As ^^ mentioned, the delay on firing is apparently his biggest gripe. Fortunately, he seems to have taken the initiative and is having most of the old (good) gameplay put back in and leaving in the new cool stuff. Should be better upon release.

i thought i read somewhere the mods on the PC game can go straight to the PS3, i hope they work this out for the 360

Does the dodge-jump feel weird to anyone else? Like they made you heavier or something?

you can't tweak the dodge settings at all and it's different from the old versions, so yea.

bump. saw that this was out, anyone try it out yet? I think i'd have to upgrade my computer just to support it, the graphics look awesome and was hopin for some feedback from anyone who's picked it up and played.

The demo ran fairly well on my not top-end computer. UT's always been fairly friendly with older systems, as long as they're not too old.

I played the beta and hated it. It crashed my computer every single time I tried to play. When I did get a chance to play, I wasn't impressed. I didn't get to play much though..

yeah the demo sucked. Epic has reached the end of the rope with just rehashing UT over and over again. Will not be picking this up

So now that people have had time to play the whole game, what's the verdict?

The biggest gripes that I've read about are the things they inexplicably took out of UT2004:
The adrenaline system
Bombing run
Assault

Sounds like this is a $19.99 bargain bin game and that UT 2004 still has a better online community, mods, etc.

I just played the demo last night. It's worse than I thought. It's like they nerfed every weapon.

I've really enjoyed it. Then again, this is the first UT that I've played, so I can imagine is this is somebody's fourth version, it might get a bit stale. It's kept me off the guitar hero. I think I'm starting to have Rock Band envy, since there so much DLC out there compared to GH III.
