I just recently got into graphic novels and am looking for some good suggestions.

The ones that got me interested in them are: The Watchmen and Y: The Last Man

Any other great graphic novels that people have enjoyed?

Black Hole is great, so is Blankets

If you are looking for a superhero GN, I suggest Batman: The Dark Knight Returns

Jimmy Corrigan, the Smartest Kid on Earth is gorgeous

but somehow it's just as depressing as maus

and that's crazy...considering maus is about the fucking holocaust

I guess "mature audiences" means 30 year old single guys living in their parents' basement.

There's a Graphic Novel club that meets weekly or something like that at B&N in Brier Creek... Saw some advertisements for it the other day

This is why I titled one of my threads here "Graphic Novels/Comic Books for Halloween Reading." I knew that if I didn't, some would just try to shred the title instead of focusing on the topic itself.

Consider this a lesson learned, arog20012001.

Planetary. This will end up as the grandaddy of them all one day.

Other than that, there are these that are all finished stories that you can read from beginning to end:

Transmetropolitan
Y: The Last Man
Preacher
Watchmen
Planet Hulk
Kraven's Last Hunt
Alias

And then there's these that still have issues coming out, but are still outstanding reads and in many cases read better as collections than they did one issue at a time:

Ex Machina
Powers
The Walking Dead
Invincible
Almost any Daredevil that's been collected

...that's just the tip of the iceberg.
