I just pulled out our old 50's era case grain drill and got it ready to plant my winter rye. it hasn't been used since the early 60's, but seems good to go. I probably would have had it planted today, but busted a hyd. line on the disk. does anybody else on here work on/use ancient farm equipment?

i'd love to have an old tractor to dick around with. i don't have enough land/use for one though. my riding mower will have to do.

The last thing I fucked with was my uncle's Farmall 100. I actually found a brand new carburetor for it (NOT new old stock, but brand spanking new, and much prettier than the original Zenith).

I need to jump on it sometime and finish it up. The governor's frozen, so I can't get 'er to run above a fast idle without moving the carb's throttle arm by hand.

My biggest gripe is that the damn thing doesn't have a low enough first gear. I can't bush-hog saplings with it because the tractor moves too damn fast.

Oh, and I learned to drive a tractor on my granddad's 1954 Ford 660 when I was 8 years old. I would love to have that tractor, and am thinking about asking to buy it from the estate.

I have a JD 4000, which is a 4020 w/ less sheet metal and lights. My dad and I painted it this weekend. Has a loader and dual hyd. outlets. We're down to 1 leak from 6

My grandpa had an old 50's John Deere that I learned to drive when I was a kid, but I don't know the model. I had an uncle who was kind enough to teach me how to drive it by putting it in third, throttling up the engine, and letting the clutch out with a tobacco stick. It popped a small wheelie and took off. After a few laps around the field I was good to go.

Got a MF TO-20 waiting around on me back at home. Grandfather willed it to the first grandson from one of his sons, which happened to be me. Thing is in decent condition, but needs a few parts to run. I'm hoping that in a few years I will have enough money to bring some level of restoration to it.

dude, my ex's grandad had all sorts of massey ferguson and JD tractors.

i'm not a farm hand by any means, but they were in tip top shape and were fun as hell to drive.

i hummed green acres too.
