Would it be possible to hotwire a XM satellite radio (5v) so that the power could be turned on and off by the ceiling light switch? If so what would be necessary? 10/16/2007 3:26:48 AM |

Has anyone even bothered to mention the problem of a car's 12v power system, and he wants a 5 volt line?

^^I've done it with 5 bucks in radio shack parts, some aluminum fins, and a mini 1" fan. It's worked for 4 months now no problem, tucked under the steering column, above the brake pedal for some circulation. I will say without the fins and fan the first IC melted in a few minutes when I tested it.
My receiver pulls a constant .5 amps iirc. 10/17/2007 7:11:20 AM |
