Michigan State should be a good early-season test.

i would have to imagine it's the last time we were ranked, which was the season before last. don't know about preseason though.

[Edited on October 17, 2007 at 9:20 PM. Reason : and hot damn, i didn't think we'd be that high in any legit preseason polls.]

Umm no. If they don't fuck UT over with a bad call against tOSU they are probably in the Final Four last year. They only lost Bradshaw and Pearl brought in another good class and got transfer Tyler Smith. I will put them Final Four in my bracket right now. Any team with Chris Lofton is a threat to win any game.

oh shit, Tennessee got another big recruit for next year, Renaldo Woolridge from California. 4-star, really thought he was going to hometown USC.

Thats two 4 stars for next year already, now we need to get Elliot Willams, but have stiff competition from Memphis and Duke

last year, i REAAALLY felt scared about UNC. but this season, for some reason, i just dont feel that intimidated...i think they will be top 2 in the ACC, but i think we can take em down.

i do not, however, like us going @ UNC for our 1st ACC game.

i cannot WAIT to see this team tomorrow night

i love how they do all this analysis position by position, depth chart by depth chart, and over the summer we've been pegged as have one of (if not the best) frontcourts in the country.

obviously the difference between us being 23 spots lower than UNC is their point-machine x-factor Ty Lawson

preseason polls = retarded.

these shouldnt come out until 3-4 weeks after the start of the season...all these teams pretty much will play CUPCAKES (and they will serve their purpose) and these standings prolly wont change much at all

^Mangino gets royalties for that

24 is favorable, if we should even be ranked at all. Its more about expectations (as all these polls are) than past performance. The voters and the public have no idea how good teams are until conference play gets into full swing.

Yes

Its on a scale where 1st place votes get you 25 points, 2nd place votes get you 24, etc. down to 1 point for 25th.

gotcha, that makes sense

even though that means that some people must've had UCLA ranked pretty low to balance out the 2 extra first place votes they received over UNC
