if you go in the entrance next to the lake, go across the bridge, keep straight (village of yesteryears to your left), go past the the corn booth (on your right), go past the nc state ice cream (on your left), then its not far past that on your lefthttp://www.ncstatefair.org/2007a/Images/NCStateFairgrounds2007Map.pngnear the grandstands i think[Edited on October 18, 2007 at 1:47 PM. 10/18/2007 1:57:12 PM
They also have them near gate 1, in the permanent buildings where the churches set up every year.
10/18/2007 1:57:45 PM
I could not find that spot last night. I figured thats where they would be, near where the deep fried candy bars usually are. That deep fried Wisconsin cheese is the heat!

Heart attack on a plate!
10/18/2007 2:54:07 PM
Is the deep fried cheese just cheese sticks?
10/18/2007 2:55:26 PM
^^^ holy shit yes. It is chunks of cheddar, lightly breaded and deep fried. Amazing.
10/18/2007 3:00:34 PM
They fix them right when you order them, I watched the guy get the cheese squares out of the fridge, soak them in batter, then drop them in the fryer. Sooo Delicious! OH YEAH AND THEY COME WITH RANCH DRESSING!]

STFUare you serious?*leaves to go to fair right now*lol, not joking
10/18/2007 3:29:48 PM
I wanted to try those, but didn't get a chance to. Need to go back to the fair once more before it closes, methinks. In other fried item news, the fried reese's cups (new this year, or at least I didn't notice them last year) are quite good, but don't quite measure up to the fried snickers or fried moon pie.
10/18/2007 4:48:05 PM
they should have fried cheesecake. you can get it at Mexican restaurants, why is the fair lagging in fry technology???
10/18/2007 5:09:15 PM
I was always very fond of the fried oreos.
10/18/2007 5:12:35 PM
Any of you clowns ever heard of a Monte Cristo sandwich?
10/18/2007 5:17:13 PM
^It's that huge, deep fried, club sandwich with powdered sugar on top at Bennigan's. Ate about half of it and about lost my lunch

is tonight the night you get in free with canned goods?
10/18/2007 7:42:12 PM
The frozen cheesacake is dipped in chocolate, but the deep dried cheesecake has whipped cream and Hershey's syrup on it. The deep fried is good, but the frozen dipped is better. I've had 2 this week. I take that back, I don't know which is better. Frozen dipped is easier to eat.My favorite thing at the fair was DEEP FRIED PICKLES!!!! They're amazing! They do spears instead of chips. Chips are crispier, but the spears are just awesome. I found this one place with THE BEST corn dogs EVER. They use the sweet yellow corn meal... mmmm. Would have been better with big fat, beef hot dogs, but they were atill good. And only $3.^ Yes. 4 cans I think. But you should take more, food banks are running low.[Edited on October 18, 2007 at 7:50 PM. Reason : ]
