I am writing a paper for one of my classes about a problem at NCSU. I am proposing the use of using podcast for your classes. It would be a simple way to get audio and video content and would be less time consuming. Would you support this idea? Just trying to get a quick survey so I can have something to back this paper up.

What is the problem you're writing about? Why would using a podcast solve it? What would it be less time consuming than? In other words... What are you talking about?
Are you suggesting the use of recorded lectures in place of classes all together?
If you want this informal survey to have any substance at all you should explain the problem and your solution better.

I'm assuming the podcasts would supplement regular instruction. That way you could go back and listen to the lectures at a later time. 10/21/2007 4:14:04 PM |

There are many professors at NCSU who provide audio and in some cases video of their lectures via Real Media software, especially for distance ed purposes. I would forgo a survey, which you have no way of making scientifically valid, and instead cite precedence insofar as other classes already do this and find it to be a valuable study and learning aid. You can also mention that the university already provides the tools to do what you're proposing. 10/21/2007 4:21:18 PM |
