My English class from another college was only 3 credits, so I have to take ENG 101 over again. I'm going to try to take it in the summer just so the suffering and mind-numbing stupidity takes less time. I already tried to take it once, with Hagopian, but she's a god damned retard, and circumstances beyond my control made me drop that semester, anyway. So, who are the non-retarded English 101 teachers? Is there anyone out there who realizes that us transfer students have already taken this and already know what we're doing? Who ISN'T going to teach English 101 at such a dumbed-down level that I want to strangle them? Or am I just shit out of luck on this one? 10/22/2007 9:18:59 PM |

I recommend you go to Wake Tech or other community college and take ENG112 in the summer that way you have the 111/112 series which covers your ENG101 credits.
ENG101 is a pain in the ass course no matter who you take with according to 100% of the students Ive heard from. Its really geared towards getting freshman to start writing non-cookie cutter essays and the assignments are a total drag (not to mention the grading is ridiculously meticulous)
I went to community college and took the ENG111/112 series, saved money because the tuition was like $70 for the course, and got A's with very, very little effort involved. 10/22/2007 11:05:24 PM |

Take it with Wanda Ramm. She is one of the best professors I have had throughout college despite the class being ENG 101. She makes it fun with stories. She will make up her own guidelines instead of the retarded standard English department guidelines. She enjoys what she does and is not just there to make a paycheck. You get like 6 absences and she will cancel class a lot and also let the class go really early often as well. If you are not a shy person and talk a lot, you will get along just fine and not think it is boring. Sure there are papers that you have to do but she does not teach at a "Dumbed- down level".
Easy A. 10/23/2007 8:11:21 PM |

take something like ENG 112 at Wake Tech
It's an online course you can do in a summer session, you never have to go to Wake Tech. Submit like 5 papers online and participate (or not) and get your A. In fact, don't be surprised if you flat out don't do some things like participation or the annotated bibliography and you still get the A. Seriously. 10/27/2007 2:36:24 PM |

I second what ncsu_acct said. Take it with Wanda Ramm. She's very entertaining and she grades very reasonably. She tells all kinds of crazy stories and truely tries to make ENG 101 fun (despite that it's just a dry, boring course to begin with). She's one of the best professors I've had in college. Please please please sign up for her class. 11/5/2007 12:49:23 AM |
