to boot up with settings of 1 week prior. I have heard that when a computer's software (XP) craps out and starts acting funny, you can go into the command window and type code to re-boot the computer with the settings it had days or weeks prior. Basically tricking the software into thinking the bug never happened. How is this done? Don't want to reformat if I don't have to.

do a system restore, that should help you out.

if that doesn't work, try resetting CMOS.

if that doesn't work, backup your files you want to keep, then reset your comp to factory settings (use this as a last resort). there are other things you can probably try, but these are the first couple ideas that came to mind.

why the hell would an EE be expected to have heard of SQL? You tech-support IT monkeys really crack me up sometimes
