NC State (3-5, 1-3, T-#5 ACC-A)
vs
Miami (5-3, 2-2, #3 ACC-C)

Gaining momentum, the Pack come into Miami after another strong performance over the BCS 15th ranked Virginia. Miami should be well rested as they are just coming off of their bye week. They're going to need is as their schedule doesn't get too much better from here. After playing State they move on to play Virginia as their final home game in the Orange Bowl and then go to Virginia Tech and up to BC. Hopefully the Pack will continue to play as they have the previous two games in hopes of defeating the 'Canes. GO STATE.

Miami schedule to date:
DATE OPPONENT RESULT/TIME
09/01 Marshall W 31-3
09/08 at #5 Oklahoma L 51-13
09/15 Fla Int'l W 23-9
09/20 #20 Texas A&M W 34-17
09/29 Duke W 24-14
10/06 at UNC L 33-27
10/13 Ga Tech L 17-14
10/20 at Florida St W 37-29
11/03 NC State 12:00 PM

Miami statistical leaders:
QB #3 Kyle Wright 88-142, 1240 YDS, 8.73 AVG, 9 TD
RB #2 Graig Cooper 95 ATT, 564 YDS, 5.9 AVG, 4 TD
WR #8 Darnell Jenkins 22 REC, 466 YDS, 21.2 AVG, 1 TD
Defense 25.4 points for, 21.6 points against, margin 3.8

this is gunna be a touuuugh game.

TOB doesn't have a win in the Orange Bowl (not that that really makes too big a difference, but it doesn't help us)

i call it 28-20 Miami

hope our improvement continues .. Miami has some losses on that are inexcusable, such as to UNC. I think we can get that W this time.

We just kicked UVAs ass. They aren't going to be looking past us, especially with a UNC loss in their past.

Miami is beatable but in the orange bowl after beating FSU & a bye? Tall order, but then again, nc state wasn't supposed to beat ecu or uva either.

two pack turnovers in the 2nd half spoil a valiant rally

For the most part I think it will be a defensive battle. My guess will be 17-14 Pack.

Here's hoping Miami doesn't wake up for a noon game and we get on the board early. Our guys really seem to be looking forward to the game since many of them are from South Florida. Miami has UVA next week and might just look ahead to that game.

GO PACK

For everyone going to the game, have a hell of a time. Bring back a W

Any of you guys coming down for the game?

I'm currently a grad student at Miami and I've been down here since 2004.

PM me if you need information on tailgating or places to go OR if you know of a big NCSU tailgate event.

The OB is not in the nicest part of town, but its a very fun experience.

GO PACK!

Any tips on not getting shot for those going to the game at the Orange Bowl?

Quotables: Randy Shannon
Posted Oct 31, 2007

CORAL GABLES, FL -- Miami head coach Randy Shannon met with the media to discuss the upcoming game against NC State.

Opening Statement:
This week we have N.C. State coming up. Guys practiced well the other day. They came out and executed a lot of things. We got a lot of work done Sunday. Kyle Wright will practice today. He moved around a little bit better Sunday, and today he'll get some more work. I really don't know if he is going to play a lot, but he moved around. We will see what happens as the week goes on and what his status will be. N.C. State is coming off a big win over Virginia in which Virginia was on a roll. I think our team understands that they can't take anything too lightly. You have to stay focused and come out and do the things you need to do and the things we need to do to win the game. I think the one thing that helped us is that we were physical against Florida State.
On momentum from FSU:
You can't worry about it. That is the one thing we told our players to feel good about yourself then, but now the game is over. Now, we have to get started up for our next opponent. Be focused and get things done that way.

On N.C. State's win over Virginia:
That is big confidence for them. Virginia was leading the division with a 7-1 record at that point in time and everything was going good. N.C. State played well. Their coach will tell them to move past that game.

On the status of QB Kyle Wright:
He will practice today and go through some indoor work. If it goes well, he'll finish the practice. We'll gradually get him back into what we need him to do in order to be ready to go for this game.

On the quarterback situation:
I won't know until Friday. Kirby won two games for us this year. It's good that we have both of those guys, because you never know when you are going to need someone. I think that everyone across the nation is facing a quarterback situation. But for us, it is great that we have both of them. They can step in and win games.

On the status of DT Antonio Dixon:
He is going to practice today also. He will be going through some drills early.

On controllong on fate in divisional race:
We haven't even talk about that. We have to worry about N.C. State. If we don't take care of [them], nothing else matters. No matter what happens down the road you have to take care of N.C. State.

On the bye week:
We did a lot of ones-against-ones. The guys are fresh but we got some work done.

On taking N.C. State lightly:
No, we won't. That was the first thing that we said on Sunday. Every last one of them said we can't take them lightly.

On N.C. State's offensive threats:
They are doing good. They spread the ball around, and the guys put the ball on the right spot. They are getting the offense going where they want it to go
