Michael Clayton - 4.5/5

I knew this would be good, I just didn't know how good. wonderfully put together by tony gilroy. Good old school hollywood thriller. I hope for Clooney to get a Best Actor nod for this, and maybe Wilkinson will get a Supporting Actor nod as well.

Rendition 3/5

all-star cast, but not an all-star movie. It was good in stretches and then boring in others. I usually enjoy almost all CIA type movies (Spy Game, Good Shepherd, etc.) but found this one to be pretty disappointing.

i was pondering on whether to see this, but i heard that the acting isnt too terribly great and the idea behind the film is exaggerated, this making it pointless

For some reason Wanda Sykes has always really irritated me. I haven't been able to figure out why.

American Gangster - 4/5

Pretty good, but was a tad longer than it needed to be. I do like when Denzel plays a bad guy though, he is very good at it.

disturbia: 4/5

good, fun movie. not really a horror, though it has a few good jumps, it is pretty funny though.

28 weeks later: 4.5/5

really good, not exactly a sequel as it could stand alone, though both movies together are strong. this one is very different from the usual zombie horror/survival movie, as there isn't a ton of zombie/horror action. it is pretty strong on a story that i thought was good, plus it does have it's intense moments. i really hope for another installment in the franchise.

The Darjeeling Limited : 4/5

Not my favorite Wes Anderson film, but still throughly good. Humor came at the right moments every time, and overall, just a charming movie

Rob Zombie's Halloween - 3/5

Pretty decent flick, but nothing mind blowing. It held my attention and, most importantly, righteously awesome soundtrack.

The Nightmare Before Christmas 3-D: 7/10

The previews of the upcoming 3-D movies are pretty sick. I read an article where James Cameron said he would never shoot a regular movie again. Nightmare was good, as always, but the 3-D looked more like a moving Viewfinder. the best looking parts were atmosphere effects like swirling leaves or snowflakes.

one down side is that my eyes felt somewhat tired after seeing it. not only were the 3-D effects somewhat limited, but this flick is kind of short. Lord of the Rings 3-D might take some ocular cross-training to be viewed with out serious ESD.

Evidently racial slurs, police brutality, and the police chief from Jaws make for good cinema.

The last movie I went to a theater to watch?

A friend of mine drug me to Star Wars: Episode 3. Didn't really care about the series anymore at that point. It was better than 1 or 2 but that isn't saying much. 6/10.

Last DVD. Transformers. As a giant robot movie 7/10. As a "Transformers" movie 4/10. There was just something missing to give it that Transformers feel. I can't quite put my finger on it though.

Plus the ridiculous decision to abandon canyons in the desert as a means of protecting the "life spark" for the much more favorable defensive position of a densely populated downtown area - since the Autobots were so concerned with human life and all. Not sure why they thought putting the thing on a helicopter headed to where exactly would help protect it anyway. Oh yeah, 'cause if they didn't do all that then they couldn't show off the latest city destruction CG.

3:10 to Yuma 4.5 / 5

Having not seen the original until after I saw this one I wasn't jaded nor was I forced to make any comparison. There certainly were some "why the hell is he doing that" moments but otherwise I really liked it.
