I was setting up my ncsu.edu mail with outlook and they told me to use smtp-server.nc.rr.com as my outgoing server but it's been unable to connect. Anyone else have the same problem?

lemme guess...you can receive emails just fine but you cant send them

make sure your outgoing server matches the one based on your location but keep the incoming serer set to NCSU's

Try smtp-server.carolina.rr.com. I know its for Charlotte but that always works for me whether i'm in Charlotte or Raleigh.

Wait what? You said you were setting up your ncsu account, not your RR account.

^your outgoing server doesn't have anything to do with your email. No matter what email server you're using the outgoing server is always going to be based upon the ISP (Time Warner).

smtp-server.carolina.rr.com works for sending mail when i'm in Charlotte or Raleigh. I have time warner at my parents house, and at my apartment here. Never had to switch the outgoing server.

-Just tried smtp-server.carolina.rr.com AND smtp-server.nc.rr.com and both work here in Raleigh.
