We use a VPN at work....most of the offsite users either have Win2000 or WinXP and the VPN works great for them...the one user who connects with a Vista system often gets blue screen memory dumps upon trying to connect (other times he can connect)...when he restarts his system, the VPN connection is still stored but the information (IP address, group name, etc) have been deleted

Anyone experienced any of this? The XP/2000 client won't install on Vista...anybody know if Cisco has released a patch or a newer version of the client for Vista?

thats definitely an option...none of the software he uses requires vista, but when you buy a new laptop nowadays its probably going to come with vista...which leaves formatting, and then finding XP drivers for the built-for-vista hardware

basically i'd prefer not to do that but i've got it in the back of my mind

and the shitty part of it is when you just plain can't run XP on certain "made for vista" systems. out of around 10 systems i downgraded to XP, 2 didn't run right so they had to go back to vista.

display drivers are usually pretty easy...NICs are usually pretty easy...builtin USB port drivers can be a pain in the ass to find...let alone other chipset drivers...you'd think a company as large and reputable as Cisco would do something about compatibility with the next big OS that everyone is supposedly going to eventually migrate to...maybe they have but I haven't found it yet

5.0.02.0060 Beta supports Vista 32bit. Still no support for Vista in 64 bit mode.

5.0.02.0060 Beta works great with Vista 32....not one issue so far.

And WTF Cisco...make one that works with XP 64bit so I don't have to use L2TP
