I have been a Fox supporter as well but this offense right now is just pathetic. And I'm blaming Fox for not benching Carr after seeing him play one game with the Panthers. The defense can only hold a team back so much but with no offensive drives and no rest for the defense points are bound to be scored against us.

first for depending on delhomme
second for not getting another WR, completely inexcusable

So, you are going to stop being a fan of NCSU or the Panthers... depending on whether or not they win their games this weekend?

Oh, you probably mean they will be losing your happiness... welcome to being a Pack fan.

can you really blame fox for delhomme getting hurt though? if he was still playing quarterback this team would not be 4-4

if he was playing and this team was 5-3 or 6-2 then it wouldn't be that big of a deal; and honestly we have one of the best back-up qb's in the league. He is a former number one pick and everyone thought that it was a good pick up in the offseason b/c the jury was kind of still out on him b/c he had no o-line in houston. i personally didn't think that he would suck this bad

letting Keyshawn go was dumb. I don't care what the reasons were, but can you look at this team now and think that Keyshawn wouldn't be a help?

And, seriously, our quarterbacks?

I support and agree for the most part. If Delhomme was playing it would def be a better more efficient offense/team and we would be in the upper echelon of the NFC.

I was never a full supporter of D. Carr...He needed a year totally off to get his head right after being the Dummy QB in Houston.

I have been on the FIREFOX bandwagon for some time. What did it for me big time was the release of Key...that move made no sense. Relying on our 3rd rate receivers is killing us, and def pushing Smith to think about getting the hell out of Carolina if they not going to surround him with talent to open the field for him.

Just a thought, but I think McNabb and C. Johnson may be in their last season on their teams...what are the chances/odds we can land one or the other if not both (which is probably improbable).

we definitely don't want mcnabb, and there is only so much WR ego (and money) to go around, so chad wouldn't work.

releasing Key was a stupid move, they should've kept Taye Biddle @ WR too.

Carr looks too gun shy, and vinny will never be able to stay healthy. I say go ahead and start moore...see what he's got. At worst, the season's lost (it looks lost already). At best, our QB of the future emerges.

considering

-we haven't won a home game (we're closing in on 1 full year w/o winning one)

-the first half of our schedule was the easier half, and we're only 4-4 (and most of the ones we won were close games against bad teams)

-We get to choose from a guy who looks like he's scared to play, an old man, and an undrafted rookie @ QB.....not to mention we can't really run the ball to help our QB out.

It's looking lost....the only thing that gives me hope is the fact that we play in one of the two worst divisions in football (but now, both the bucs and saints are coming on strong.)

word is Carr got a concussion late in yesterday's game and who knows if vinny will be better by next week, so Moore might get the nod.

and, imo Hurney deserves as much, if not more of the blame than Fox.

The Panthers are pretty much like NC State this year IMO the offensive lines dictate how well the QBs do. Evans has had time the last 3 games and he is producing. I think you all are jumping on Carr a bit early. The line has really let him down when he is in there. Panthers should draft Brian Brohm...

chris leak isn't playin for anyone these days

and he's from charlotte, so people would show up to at least a couple games just to see how he does

i say we go get him. they could get him for chump change, and hell, he can't be any worse. it ain't like moore or carr have really risen to the challenge.

i mean, everyone said in houston the knock on carr was he held the ball too long. but we all wanted to believe that wouldn't be a problem behind a better OL. well, guess what. he still won't throw the fucking ball in less than 6 seconds. and he wears those queer gloves.

It's becoming quite obvious that he's the one who lets his O-lines down wherever he plays.....

He's not shell shocked...he's just terrible.

Some people have all the physical tools, just don't have the mental acuity to be a good quarterback.

Few would question that Carr has more talent than Jake...but no one would say Carr was a better quarterback.

thats what they said...but schaub and rosenfeld have done ok there...blaming it on Houston's O-Line in hindsight seems like complete bullshit...I'll go back and say if the Texans had drafted Reggie Bush, he would've had a good rookie season...the reason people said he wouldn't was they said Houston's O-Line was garbage...seems like Carr is garbage

Quote :

uhhhhhhhhhhhh...i mean i guess you're saying he is more mobile than jake and has a stronger arm or something...but you just said he was terrible...and now you say he "has more talent" than jake...i figured by this time pretty much even the most diehard jake haters are like "wow maybe jake is a good QB" and "wow no wonder Carr has never led a team to the playoffs"

I still do not see how people say Jake sucks...When healthy, with a decent O-line he is a threat to pick apart most defenses.

You can have talent and be terrible

You can have limited talent and be good

Who has more talent...

Charles Rogers or Wes Welker?

Ryan Leaf or Jeff Garcia?

JD Drew or David Ekstein?

The former in all cases has more talent, but anyone would rather have the latter on their team

As is the case with Carr and Jake

^^And the team believes in him...him and Steve Smith have great chemistry...he has a proven track record of being able to win...sure he throws an interception here and there and the dumb fans are like "PUT IN WEINKE!" or "PUT IN CARR!" but everybody throws a pick here and there...except Tom Brady and the dude from Oregon

^i understand the point you're trying to make...i just don't think this is a very good example...Carr is a better scrambler than Jake...I'm trying to think of another thing he is more talented at than Jake but I can't...please tell me how Carr has so much talent

It's looking like Jake was even more valuable than Smitty is.....

Smitty went down a few years ago and we almost made the playoffs with Jake

Jake goes down and Smitty never even sees the ball

and, i'm getting tired of Rhyne Robinson's crap....it's about time to put smitty on returns. He has to touch the ball in some capacity 10+ times for us to have a chance now.

you're right, I blame hurney for not getting capable backups, and going into the season with only one viable receiver

Rhyne Robinson looked good in the preseason...he was confident, able to break tackles...an elusive returner...but that was preseason...I mean Jamal Robertson looked like a baller in preseason at RB a couple years ago...we all remember how poorly he did against Seattle in the NFC title game although in fairness, he was like our 4th string RB

CAN ROD "HE HATE ME" SMART PLEASE COME BACK TO CAROLINA?

Carr has a stronger arm

Carr is bigger

Carr is a better athlete

Carr throws a better spiral

Carr has a quicker release

and on an on and on

None of these mean shit when you have no internal clock and make every throw into double coverage off your back foot like Carr does

But put Jake and Carr on a neutral field and Carr will win if not dominate most every QB-centric drill

This doesn't make him a good quarterback, it just means he has the physical tools to be one

If Jake had Carr's tools, he could potentially be an elite NFL passer

Fox coaches not to lose and loses the majority of the time. Just for once, I want him to coach to win. And then if we lost, I wouldn't feel like we could have/should have done more to win. But Fox just keeps on with the conservative coaching. Pretty soon he'll be coaching not to lose his job. I doubt the end result will be much better for him.

^ Pretty useless point here on TWW...I been arguing that same sentiment for close 3 or 4 years now. To many people believe that this coaching style is the new coaching standard that should be followed. I whole heartedly agree with you, Fox coaches not to lose, and plays real conservative with the thought being if we are close in the end we have a chance.

I say play to win, take some reasonable chances, play down the field instead of field position. I do think Fox will be gone if he goes this season without winning a home game...that just would not be good for him or Hurney
