I work for a search marketing firm and one of our clients sells t-shirts and posters, kinda similar to tshirthell.com or bustedtees.com is looking for a few free lance type designers to design a few shirts for them. The pay would be per design I would imagine, they're based in durham and relatively new to the t-shirt game. I see their conversion #s, if they offer you anything other than per-design @ this point you should pretty much tell them to screw themselves. In additon to t-shirt designs they're also in the market for poster designs (the spoofs of the inspirational posters, like this one http://www.thinkgeek.com/homeoffice/posters/65d7/zoom/ ) and banner ads. they do have a small staff of full time artists but I suppose you can't ever have too many people on board when your business hinges on creativity. they're always in the market for fresh ideas. shoot me a PM if its somethin you'd be interested in.
