not sure where to put this, but i have two bikes and a small garage and i need a good way to store these bikes....basically i've seen several kinds 1) pulley up the ceiling type 2) hooks on the wall 3) freestanding one above the other (like this: http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/images/products/large/6638.jpg) 4) on the floor bike stand (like this: http://walltowallstorage.com/i/Racor%20Products/ProStor_PBS-2R_Floor_Bick_Rack.jpg)
I'd like to store the bikes on the side of the garage against the wall, where I have a little bit of room. I'm liking #3, but not sure if it's a pain to get the bike up on top. Obviously #4 is easiest but takes more width.
Any bikers out there with first hand experience on these? 11/5/2007 11:21:46 PM |

if you don't mind expensive, i've got a rack that folds flat against the ceiling.
if you have enough space, might be worth considering. 11/5/2007 11:44:22 PM |

I used to have something very similar to #3... decent space saver(used inside an apartment bedroom)... and putting the bike on the top was never a major hassle. Switched to hanging the bikes on the wall in the garage to free up more floor space. I don't have any first hand experience with the other 2 options. 11/5/2007 11:48:19 PM |

I've got a 4 bike car roof rack that I'll sell for $25. You could dismantle it and hang it. 11/7/2007 12:07:58 AM |
