Accidently dropped it today and even though it only fell like a foot, the back case snapped off and it looks like some kind of "ribbon" near the top has disconnected. The iPod is a 4th generation 20gb one. Specifically, there is a loose "ribbon" near the top right of the iPod that I think connected to the area where the headphone jack and hold switch (attached to the back case) are located. I would post pics but I don't have a camera . So now the iPod doesn't even turn on. Anyone have any ideas? The closest Apple store is over an hour away so I really don't want to have to deal with that.

Note: it is no longer under warranty.

Sounds like that ribbon was the battery connection.
There are DIY's on the net for changing the battery. It will also tell you how to re-connect.
