If anyone has an extra incubator, I need one. I believe one of my cockatiels is pregnant. 11/23/2007 3:09:11 PM |

birds don't get "pregnant"
But tiel females will lay eggs even w/out a male around. Mine did it all the time since she thought I was her "mate."
Talk to "Sonia." I know she has a ton of cockatiels and one of hers paired up and had a baby that she raised.

ahah I didnt know I even said that, weird - but as large as my female is, I'm sure shes gonna lay eggs pretty soon and the male has been romping her daily, so theres a high possibility 11/26/2007 10:31:24 AM |

why not just give her a nesting box and let her try to raise them? Unless you want 100% insurance that you'll get babies. 11/26/2007 11:45:05 AM |

It would be easiest to let her incubate the egg. If your set on incubating them yourself, you can make one fairly easily or you can pick up a hovabator for about $40. If you need help making one, just PM me. 11/26/2007 2:17:49 PM |

I did give her a nesting box - but the thing is, her and her mate have been eating it because its made of wood, so its now in pieces. 11/26/2007 2:21:12 PM |

Try a different material then because hand raising chicks is A LOT of work. My grandmother hand raised several cockatiels and it is very demanding. 11/26/2007 3:27:35 PM |
