So we're not going bowling... that's evident after our 17 - 0 score in the first half with Maryland threatening in the red zone with time on the clock...

So can we get Valvano back to help us pay for some players? We have got to find a quarterback...

ONe thing that would help get us players is if you, Oeuvre, would go out and chug a pint of gasoline as quickly as possible and then swallow a match.

That would be a good first step.

Oeuvre is just getting a head start on the inevitable

this team pretty much mailed it in after unc, but that's ok, cause we beat unc

1. find a qb
2. find a decent backup qb in case that qb starts to play like evans
3. find a really really fast guy like that arkansas guy who caught the direct snaps in case option 1 and 2 don't pan out.
4.

goddamn you people are morons

5-7 > 3-9

theres a lot of building blocks here, there's a quarterback coming in who will be ready to take over in a year or two, the rest of our recruiting class isn't too shabby, and our WRs are fucking sick.

it's not gonna turn around in one season people, but things are definitely looking up

Before I say this, I'm gonna go ahead and say that I KNOW I'm a user with <1000 posts.

That being said, I know Andrew Evans has another year of eligibility, and he's sure as hell not getting on the field as a WR. But he's also got a dad who's an All-American punter. Why can't Johnny teach Andrew (or Daniel) how to punt this off-season? They've gotta be better than Pierson...

A friend of mine last night who grew up in WV and has a pretty successful business in Raleigh asked a stunning question: "Why, for the 13 years I've been here has State not won anything? They have world class facilities, money in the budget, a great place to want to be in North Carolina... and they can't manage to win a single ACC championship let alone a single appearance in the Final Four?"

I had to explain to him Les Robinson, Herb Sendek, Chuck Amato, and especially, the lovely Lee Fowler.

To put it in that perspective though, it really is inexcusable why we haven't won shit.

To respond to the quote, I'm tired of building blocks.

^^ then what did you expect this season?

An ACC championship?

You know the deal, state is mediocre, we can only hope for more, and this time perhaps we'll get it. For this season, 5-7 is pretty goddamn incredible.

And yeah, our WRs ARE sick, but they're young. When I said our WRs were good, I wasn't mentioning Dunlap or Blackman. Blackman's a good return man, and can make a good catch once in a while, but he should be out in space to be effective. But Davis, Spencer, Bowens, Williams, and Jay Smith will be huge for us. You can't say that's not a lot of young talent.

for all you "atleast we beat unc" people, unfortunately, that should NOT be our mindset every year...

id rather be 8-4 and lose to unc than 3-8 and beat unc

but you have it your way

^^No I didn't expect an ACC championship this year... but I think I'm well within my right to expect one in the past 15.

In a vacuum, there's no reason why NC State shouldn't have at least one ACC championship in football or basketball... But I suppose Lee Fowler is the defeater of all vacuums.

so, do you believe that, in spite of the other coaching mishires, Tom O'Brien and Sidney Lowe are the right coaches for the job?

I certainly think so. I'm sorry we haven't won in a long while, I come from a wolfpack household and have been dealing with this all my life, but come on man. don't ever give up and all that shit, i think the future is looking up.

you can't fault the current team and its rebuilding status based on fuckups by other staffs and players

What I'm saying is the obvious. We HAVE to get a quarterback. There is no reason why a major Division I team with awesome facilities and enough attractive women to woo any college senior, that's 1.5 hours from the beach, with a temperate climate, can't recruit a quarterback.

That, of course, isn't TOB's fault. We'll see how he does recruiting. But the case may be made for player development. Although we did look up the 2nd half of the season, we looked absolutely lost today. Lost.

Oh, and news flash, Maryland isn't a great team.

I mean damn, if I was the #1 qb in the nation I'd come to nc state. You'd have almost no competition here. And let's recruit some linemen that don't let a 3 man rush almost kill the qb.

^ For real, a true freshman blue chip could waltz in here and not even have a position battle. He would start day 1. We also have some good OL recruits. TOB can certainly recruit that position well.

Funny you say that Daniel was the punter at Broughton. Maybe he should go the way of Stone and take one for the team and be the punter...Pierson actually had his best game against Maryland.
