http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2007/11/26/washington-redskins-safety-sean-taylor-shot/

Quote :
"Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor has been shot.

Pro Football Talk is reporting that Taylor is "fighting for his life." Taylor was at his home in Florida Sunday night. His home was burglarized and he was shot by an intruder.

NBC 6 in Miami reported that there was a burglary and shooting at Taylor's home, although NBC 6 erroneously reported that Taylor is a "former" Redskins player.

The Miami Herald reported that a man was shot at a home owned by Sean Taylor, although it does not identify who was shot or say that it's the same Sean Taylor who plays for the Redskins."

Hard to say how much validity "ProFootballTalk.com" actually has... http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm

ESPN reporting he was shot in groin, which could very well validate the femoral artery report.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3127928

Local Miami news station also reporting extremely critical condition after femoral artery was struck.
http://www3.wsvn.com/news/articles/local/MI68880/

Prayers go out to Taylor and his family.

If another certain Miami alum would've been shot instead, there would be an endless possibility of "soldier" jokes.

I thought this thread was about a basketball player and some sort of controversial last second shot.

Steve Foley had his femoral artery severed from a gunshot wound before the start of last year and he was still limping more than a year later.

Even if he pulls through this, his NFL career may be in jeopardy.

So Clinton Portis is on Fox News and someone asked him if because some U Miami player/alum got shot a few years back, if he thought it was something about the UM program and Clinton said something along the lines of 'it's not the program, it's life....things happen every day....there was a shooting with some kids from Memphis and some kids got shot at Arizona'........ Anyone know what 'Arizona' incident he's talking about?

ahhh, ok, I knew about Loren Wade, but that was the case of a team member shooting a team member so it's not exactly random violence...... thanks

but how was he in miami if he plays for the redskins. typically you don't go home to your off-season house. something fishy is going on with that story.

What kind of shit is this? Its a big city. This has nothing to do with Miami or UM. He is a high-profile athlete. And this all happened in a really nice part, way far out in the suburbs in South Dade. Someone has been targeting him for a while. It was reported that he already had an intruder leave shit in his bedroom from an earlier break-in. I'm just thankful he had access to one of the best trauma hospitals in the country and that he is responsive.

But something is fishy. He knew something was going on and wanted to check on his house in Palmetto Bay.

^^^ Taylor was injured and was scheduled to be out for a few weeks with a knee sprain.. not sure what the Redskins policy is but I do knot that the Eagles had a policy that if you were hurt and weren't going to play then you didn't travel with the team. You stayed back to rehab. Again not sure if Gibbs has same policy but could be an explanation of why he was in Miami.

It's not the first time he's been involved in ghetto drama and been shot at. Out of all the times they picked to rob his house, they picked a time when he was at home? That seems suspect. He is gone half the damn year, and everyone knows when he is not at home.

if sean taylor was kayne west's brother there probably would be a lot more coverage...

that aside, this is real bad, anything can happen on a given day.
