What is the Navy's take on using commercially available electrical standards as opposed to the MIL spec 2464X standards for non-combative vessels?

I'm predicting you'll get your ass kicked in the next 6 months.

Well, I haven't worked in the Electrical divison on board a ship yet, so I don't know...yet.

Do you really sing "In The Navy!" by the Village People every time you set sail?

What would you say if you found out that your official title was "seaman?"

No. We never sing it. We do occasionally sing "That Loving Feeling" when there's karaoke at the dining-out.

are you going to be one of the elite egg chasing seamen or just a combat seaman that stops the other seamen from reaching the egg first?

less than you would think.

a lot less, actually. the Navy is in my experience, one of the least gay services.

I read an article by Chuck Palahniuk that he wrote for GQ years ago about the submarine service. It was published in a book of short stories and included an afterward detailing the gay stuff that the navy wouldn't let him publish.

Fun stuff.
