Hopefully theres a site where you can watch the full broadcast online, though Ill probly end up at a bar.

FWIW, nfl.com is having 'live look ins' where they show full possessions live during the game.

On another note, I've read that since the NFL network also has the Pats/Giants game at the end of they year, they may auction it off to the highest bidding other network since everyone will want to see the Pats try for 16-0.

doubt it. they'll probably try to use that one to manipulate fans into complaining to their cable companies just like they're doing now.

looks like http://www.channelsurfing.net has a link up right now. no telling how long it will last once game time actually rolls around. i guess keep checking on there for any updated links once the current ones go down (if they do).

right now they are streaming nfl network from the game link you see when you scroll down.

and yeah i'm pulling for the packers as well. i like favre, and i think it's awesome how well he's playing after it seemed like he was sure to fade away into retirement. if the steelers can't win the super bowl this year, i'd love to see the packers do it (assuming p-riv and the chargers also fall short).

I'm pulling for Dallas since I took them giving 6.5, otherwise I'd definitely pull for the Pack

So if it goes to OT I'm defefinitely fucked, so I'll pull for GB at that point

you might want to hedge something...i think dallas will win a close one since they are at home, but they have a suspect 2ndary and favre is playing great...i think its a field goal game either way

^Why? It is a big game for both teams. It will probably determine who loses to NE in the SB.

Haha and other teams like the Pats/Colts/Chargers recently don't have bandwagon fans?

Hell half the people on this board say they pull for the Chargers because of Rivers.....I mean how come nobody says they like the Bengals because they have Scott Kooistra?

to paraphrase Nadasurf "He's a quarterback..he's pop-pew-LER"

Notice how you didn't see everyone become Texans fans when Mario got drafted

You can root for a player and not the team, except with a quarterback, since they're the only ones mainly judged for wins and losses

You never see the stat "Brian Westbrook's record as a starter is 31-18, its always McNabb.

i'd even go so far as to say its the biggest NFC matchup of the whole season, and the biggest game of the whole season that nobody will get to watch

i'm assuming you are a cowboys fan...well you should also acknowledge and admit that some of your fanbase (not necessarily you personally) is pathetic and the most annoying fans in all of sports

so yeah...Tarheels = Cowboys = Notre Dame = NY Yankees = etc

feel free to replace Notre Dame with Miami if you like

What would be the NBA equivalent of those teams?

Its less clearcut IMO. I'd say Lakers or Celtics, but not to the level of the examples from other sports.

[Edited on November 29, 2007 at 4:50 PM. Reason : Bulls were definitely that team for a while, but not so much now.]

Yeah but how many Spurs fans do you see in North Carolina?

I've met maybe 2 or 3.

They're like the least popular good team since the Stockton/Malone Jazz.

I somewhat agree.

I just hope for a decent game.

We were the laughing stock of the league not two years ago. I dont think losing to the cowboys and falling to 10-2 is going to have me commiting panther suicide.

my meaningless predictions:

the cowboys linebackers and secondary are probably the best the packers have seen all year, they'll bottle grant up and force a lot of four and five receiver sets

but if favre plays like favre we can still score in bunches

tony homo and TO are playing lights out right now though -- the win comes down to our defense making stops moreso than our offense putting up a ton of points

should be a hell of a game, as long as the wheels don't come off i won't be disappointed

cowboys 31, packers 27

i dont think the cowboys have a very good secondary

i think that might be their biggest weakness, at least on defense

i don't think they're that great either

but the packers have played against some pretty terrible pass defenses this year, the cowboys secondary and linebackers are probably better than all of them at stopping the pass

that's what i was trying to say

--

pass defenses:

9 chiefs
10 denver
11 giants
13 redskins
21 cowboys
22 eagles
23 chargers
25 bears
31 lions
32 vikings

so i was sorta right, i guess

i just remember Eli Manning throwing all over them early in the year, but the Giants have been pretty up and down from week to week

its kind of amazing that the Pats and Packers are a combined 21-1 and neither of them has relied much on running the ball all season...Sammy Morris had a couple nice games for the Pats and Ryan Grant and Deshawn Wynn have each had a nice game or two, but Favre and Brady have truly led those offenses, probably more than any other teams this year

well, for both teams it's been great play from the quarterbacks, superb blocking, and defenses that don't give up a lot of points

same old story for the pats, but a total turnaround for the pack

still though iirc last year Corey Dillon had about 12 rushing touchdowns...I doubt the entire Patriots team has 12 rushing touchdowns this year

and i dont need to explain how green bay's running game has been....serviceable, at best

the cowboys at least have a beast in MB3 in the backfield...i'm still wondering 2 years later why he doesnt start ahead of Julius Jones

ATTN: Cowboys and Packers

You are the 2 best teams in the NFC. In fact you are the only good teams in the NFC. Please to not pull a Steelers vs. Jets and make the conference look bad a la NC State last night. At least the ACC won that challenge. The NFC isn't winning the Superbowl.

I love sports.

But I refuse to be gouged for TV coverage of them. That's why I enjoy watching boxing but will never buy a boxing PPV. If the powers that be don't want me to watch over-the-air or on cable, that's fine with me, I can find better things to do.
