yeah, damn that missouri team going undefeated in the "regular season" who had to play a top ten team in their conference championship after having just beaten the number one the week before all while the Luckeyes sit on their ass for two weeks not playing a conference championship game.
That's some Ohio State shit right thurr.
Also, Ohio State's one loss in a shitty conference (on par with the ACC for shittiness this season) was to Illinois - who lost to Missouri.
I don't even give a shit about Missouri or the big 12, but fuck the BCS.

we need to force notre dame to join the big 10 and tell the pac-10 to pick up two more teams
then all the power conferences have a conference championship game
those winners + 6 at large teams go to a 12 team playoff
1-4 get byes the first week
12 so that there are just 4 games the first weekend, this is a manageable number so that people can watch all of them 12/3/2007 11:16:42 AM |

Everyone knows OSU played a soft schedule, and because of that WVU and Mizzou would likely have gotten into the NC over them as one loss teams. As it is now, Kansas is the only other one loss BCS team, but didn't win their championship, and you would have a hard time arguing they played a tougher schedule than OSU, and thats saying something.

WTF are you talking about? The person you quoted said wvu and mizzou would have been in the championship game as one loss teams. And you said "except that they are sixth and ninth in the bcs" respectively. This made it seem like you still thought they were one loss teams and the only reason why they weren't going to be in the title game was because they were sixth and ninth. I was pointing out that they were sixth and ninth only because they lost this past weekend. Nobody was disputing the fact that their losses made them sixth and ninth and therefore they shouldn't play in the title game. But you never let on that their losses from this past weekend were the reasons why they were sixth and ninth. To me it seemed you thought they shouldn't play in the title game because of the ranks and not because of the records that got them the rankings. Are they two sides of the same coin? Sure.
I just assumed that because of your lack of acknowledging their losses this weekend, you were some kind of misinformed idiot who got lost and wandered over here from chit-chat, as there are many on this board. If I was mistaken, forgive blow me.

sure... WV played a MUUUUCH better schedule than OSU
Look, I'm not saying OSU has a great team this year, but they've beaten their opponents as often as anyone not named Hawaii this year. While other teams have played a harder schedule, what it comes down to is wins and losses. And in college football, if you lose your last game, tough shit.
I'm really sick of people hating on OSU when they've won more BCS games than any other school since the BCS started (Im pretty sure, but not 100% on that). Yes, they got blown out by Florida last year, but they also beat Texas in an OOC game, destroyed ND in the fiesta bowl, beat Miami to go undefeated (fuck the whiners that can't get over that) and are 6-1 against Michigan in the last 7 years.
I also don't remember Florida being in the top 2 last year, yet I didn't hear a whole lot about them "backing in" to the title game like we heard about OSU this year. Nor are we hearing about how a 2 LOSS LSU doesn't deserve to be here.
Quit hating and respect a top 5 program. 12/4/2007 12:40:57 AM |

didn't you get the memo? You don't know anything about sports unless you hate on OSU and slob the SEC's knob every chance you get. At least those are the "in" things to do this year. 12/4/2007 12:49:13 AM |

Ohio was gift wrapped the 03 NC against Miami. That was when the whole "luckeye" thing was started. They have backed into the last two NC games because of some Ohio State shit 12/5/2007 2:17:37 PM |

Sagarin had WVU's schedule at 33. Ohio States was no where near as good as that. I think it was in the upper 50's... so yeah, they did.
I don't think it's a knock on Ohio State really in general, because they play some great OOC games year in and year out... they just didn't THIS year.

You didn't? I did a lot. All the Michigan lovers and a good chunk of the national media was on that bandwagon leading up to the game...

yes, they did back in by going undefeated last year. Good call.
I'm not saying OSU played a killer schedule this year. Not by any stretch of the imagination. But when people were saying that WV was clearly the better 1 loss team, I kept hearing about OSU's schedule. Whereas WV plays in the weakest BCS conference. Go figure.12/5/2007 4:33:23 PM |

Historically weakest. By every computer metric out there the Big East was a better conference from top to bottom than the Big 10 this year, which is all that matters...

1. SEC 2. Pac 10 3. Big 12 4. Big East / ACC 5. ACC / Big East 6. Big Ten 12/5/2007 4:57:28 PM |
