surefires are nice in their smaller models, but there's nothing like a 5D mag with LED conversion.

all depends on usage, environment, size, etc. I cannot use anything but Pelican lights on some jobs as they require non metallic and require nema 4 explosive atmosphere rated lights. Other ones any old mag light will do, others i sue a little micro tactical with one of the 3 watt l.e.d. units in it. If size is not an issue, a 1 mill CP or higher spotlight is in order, if size is where its at for you, a surefire is the way to gio, if you are in the water a lot, a pelican light so it will float and be visible, etc.
