A couple of days ago, I shaved my legs for the first time in at least 2 months. The baby has gotten so large that I can barely get to my ankles. It took nearly an hour and some interesting contortions to get them shaved.

I have been teasing my husband about how I'm going to make him shave my legs for me when I go into labor before I'll let him take me to the hospital.

You might as well let it grow until it gets soft. Once you get to that stage, you're good! That way you just dull one razor at a time.

I shave at least part of my legs every day, even in the winter.

it's been a 3+ weeks for me, but less because it's winter and more because my boyfriend isn't in town.

not shaving is my silent protest and as long as he can't see it over a webcam I'll be fine

I'm thinking about waxing everything from my eyebrows on down before seeing him, so I think that's the excuse I'm gonna run with.

I really think you gotta get to the point that shaving your legs is a pampering activity. Starting with the sharpest of razors, good, hot water, and some Neutrogena shaving cream. I'd do it post-shower, making sure to soap your legs and rinse them with good hot water.

And keeping the razor wet and the skin well lathered. Pubic area trimups? Same. What I don't like about shaving my stuff is that it invariably itches like hell after about two days. I have to keep at it.

Most of my skin is really sensitive to after shave lotions and conditioners, so I usually dust lightly with a good baby powder or cornstarch after drying off completely.

I know I ain't a girl, but I have been known to get involved in helping them out with these activities from time to time...

Oh, and one question? Why in the HELL do most women shave AGAINST the hair (up) ? No wonder you hate doing it so much; you chew up razors and burn your skin doing it.

Shaving against the grain provides a closer shave and therefore smoother skin for longer.

Come on, you should know that from shaving your face.

It won't cut well going down for me. Has to be against the grain for some reason. And it doesn't burn the skin if you do it properly (IE: take a long hot shower to soften the roots, shave using a moisturizing shaving cream, use sharp razors).

It's a bother for me mainly for posture - even when I'm efficient and swift, it's always been awkward to twist and bend. Aside from that, I shave regularly to prevent a difficult job later on. With more hair jamming up the razor, it takes longer to rinse the razor and complete the job.
