i got the 1080p philips 42" LCD last week when it was $680. Hoping everything is kosher with it. I should have it by Monday or so.

philips outlet last week. they sold out in a few hours.

i know its a risk with the refurbs, but there are a couple of 3rd party warranty places that offer protection, as well as some credit card protection. For that price, it was worth the risk to me.

That TV pales in comparison to other good brands, but at least it's better than a westinghouse. If that's you goal, that's a pretty good deal.

I thought about getting that $180 Blu-ray player last week when that deal was on Slickdeals, but between having spent way too much money lately and the reseller ratings on that site, I decided to pass...definitely should take a look there before buying:

So I got my TV yesterday, it was in perfect condition cosmetically. I haven't had a chance to test all the inputs yet, as I don't have HD service but my xbox and regular tv look great. It came with a nice stand, and everything about the picture looks flawless. I'm hoping that it holds up, but so far I am happy with my philips outlet experience.
