^ I hate people who do that, especially when they don't start writing them out until the cashier is done scanning everything.

Agreed. I choose my grocery line by the fewest number of old women. It seems like every damn one of them writes a check. They are also more likely to chat with the checkout person.

And another thing for those of you under 45, YOU DON'T HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL EVERYTHING HAS BEEN SCANNED SWIPE YOUR CARD AND ENTER YOUR PIN!!!
