I spent all night waiting around with her at the hospital, and nothing has happened yet. Girl's been in labor since noon! WTF? 12/12/2007 10:51:17 PM |

hahah, take your books to the hospital babe
I know what you mean though. You would be surprised at the shit you'll put yourself through to see a friend have their kid. It's worth it though.
I've been there before 12/12/2007 10:55:10 PM |

She told me it was OK to go home, but I still feel bad that I had to leave. She's got her husband, father, and father-in-law there, though. It just sucks b/c they were talking about the possibility of a c-section if she didn't progress more quickly She was even going to let me hold one of her legs for the birth! 12/12/2007 11:03:18 PM |

If she has a C-section, you'd end up kicked out along with the grandparents and just spend a lot of time in the waiting area. The C-section takes 45 minutes, then she'd go to recovery, then she'd end up in a mother-baby room getting to know her baby, and then she'll be all doped up on morphine sleeping. Usually, they just try to keep dad with her for all of this.
My doctor just talked to me today about the entire process because they're trying to get me to schedule one. 12/12/2007 11:33:17 PM |

I just talked to the husband... she had the baby 20 minutes after I left! I don't know whether to be b/c I missed it or b/c she didn't have to have the c-section. I think , since the little girl came out just perfect 12/12/2007 11:37:20 PM |

My baby is butt first. It's between scheduling an appointment to have him flipped around, which may not work or stress him out, both of which still lead to a C-section. Or not even trying and just scheduling the C-section. 12/13/2007 12:11:13 AM |

well, the planned c section scar looks a lot nicer, and you don't have to have your asshole and vagina merged or get your vag sewn back up because the babys head was too big...
on the downside, your kid won't get aids 12/13/2007 12:13:34 AM |

I missed my God-son being born too because of lab exams. I spent the whole summer taking care of her since she was going to be a single Mom (Dr. appts, heartbeats, late night phone calls, driving to satisfy the cravings, I even had sympathy pains). Then, my first semester up here, like the 3rd week she had him on Thursday! The one day I told her not to have him on because of labs. But I saw him the next day. Such a little angel!
I became a half-aunt last week, and Lucky1 became an uncle for the second time (first nephew) 2 days later. 12/13/2007 12:32:56 AM |
