from work... since everything that goes to the outside goes through an http proxy that won't tunnel ftp

but we do have a SSH server on hp-ux that is directly connected to the outside world

so i had to set up a tunnel through that ssh connection and then ssh through the tunnel to my webserver via ssh, to finally use SFTP.

*phew*

it works like a charm, though
