Hahah, I know it sounds like a wicked innuendo (carpet-liking pussy), but in reality it's very annoying. Her tongue on the carpet makes this awful "skritch" noise, and, to me, it's like fingernails on a chalkboard. "skritch skritch skritch skritch" all afternoon while I'm trying to study. Has anyone ever had a cat that did this? I yell "no," pop her on the butt, and sometimes even throw shit at her, but nothing phases her. Short of dousing the carpet in Texas Pete, how do I make her stop?!?

Is your cat licking the same spot over or just everywhere? If it is the same general area, put orange peels around it or spray some orange juice... cats HATE the smell of citrus.

The tape idea works pretty good too, when my cat goes into hyper mode and goes apeshit, I wrap some scotch tape around one of her paws and she spends the next 30 mins trying to get it off.

If you are really pissed, us duct tape instead, that shit will stay on for like two days.

Seriously, this cat is the hardest to train. She doesn't get scared when you yell at her, water doesn't bother her, and she is ridiculously mischievous. Other than licking carpet, her new fav thing to do it pull thumbtacks out of the wall and chew on them.

That's what I get for getting a cat from a bunch of stoners.
