I am not sure what size and crap will work with my home desktop. I have a Dell Dimension E310 (yeah I know ) and I am kind of spoiled since they installed 3 monitors on my Dell at work. So I would like to have duals at the house just to mess around with... no heavy gaming or anything like that.

I am pretty sure I could install the card myself *fingers crossed*

But the only info I can find on the web is for people looking for really high end video cards for gaming - which is dumb anyway on the E310. I just want something that will, for example, let me watch videos on one monitor and browse the net on the other.

What is an ok card for this that will fit/install properly with a Dell Dimension E310? Links are greatly appreciated. Oh and if anyone has a 17" LCD laying around, that would be appreciated as well.

You're better off spending your money on building a better computer. A Dell E310 limits you to just PCI video cards; not the ideal hardware platform for a multi-monitor setup. It's possible to do with the E310, but not worth in my opinion.

this will fit your system. it's a decent video card and will do what you need. it is by no means high end. i wouldn't spend more than $30-40 on a card for this system. if you want something more powerful, you need a system with a pci express x16 or even agp slot.

for this, you'll need to hook up 1 monitor via VGA and one via DVI... or get a DVI->VGA adapter if one of your monitors doesn't have DVI.

I will also have PCI card available in the next couple of days, an ATI Radeon 9250. $60 on Newegg, $30 to you.

personally i'd go with the geforce card i recommended - it's got second gen DDR and will do dx9. it's as cheap/high end as you can get without using a different bus.
