It's when you have the least, that you appreciate life the most.

Some of you know the financial struggles I've been going through this past month. These struggles have led to marital struggles as well. You've seen the threads of me venting (better me vent on tdub than on my wife). But, I think that in the end, we'll learn and grow from it. It was just a test to see how faithful and grateful I am. I forgot the humble beginnings that I came from. Like they say, "If it doesn't kill you, it'll make you stronger."

Besides, there are a lot more people out there who are worse off than I am. If you want to feel sympathy for someone, you should go down to the Raleigh Rescue Mission center in downtown Raleigh. I've volunteered there a few times and you can really see the disparity some people are in.

I'm able to pay my bills, keep the roof over my head, and put food on the table. Just because I can't afford Christmas gifts doesn't change the fact that I can't enjoy Christmas. Yesterday my wife and I baked some delicious cookies from scratch and we had a great time doing it (she's a wonderful cook). We'll get to see our family for Christmas and just enjoy the spirit of the season. I couldn't ask for more.
