Could be good and bad. We need some easy wins but this would be our biggest test before ACC play if they play him. Luckily we usually play down to the competition so it will be a close game even if hes out.

this game makes me nervous....I remember thinking at the beginning of the season that Davidson would pull an upset over one of the triangle teams....Duke and Carowhina both beat em already

Learn how to read faggot. Unless you think this season has been a success so far? In which case, you sure do lower your expectations early.

Well, it's pretty early to call it a success or failure.

But we have won the only tournament we have been involved in, if that's an indication of things to come it projects as a pretty successful season.

^ It's a karma thread done before every game. The best player on the opposing team always has a pulled hammy. There was the same kind of thread for Neitzel when we played MSU. Search if you don't believe me.

^^^^considering we're only in december, i wouldn't call this season a failure -- even up to this point. there are problems, definitely. but that's what this part of the season is all about. would you rather we play nobodies and then fail up and down in the ACC? i mean just look no further than clemson for an example of this year in and year out. in fact, carolina has hardly played anyone of any worth since their first game against (you guessed it) davidson.

No. I'd rather we play whoever ooc wise and win and then play in the acc and win. Just because we're losing now doesn't mean we're getting the losses out of the way early. Unless you bought into Grant's prediction of only losing four games. In which case, I would agree. Losing now is all the better.

And please don't tell me you think we've played any tough teams yet. Villanova is the only one worth arguing about. Any year in which we lose to ECU, and UNO in basketball can't be considered a success. At least not until we win the ACC or go deep in the NCAAs. That hasn't happened yet and I still haven't seen anything that makes me think it's going to happen.

Look man. I actually agree with you. It's definitely premature to give up on the team. I'm just saying I've yet to see anything that makes me feel good about where the season is headed.

I said the same type things in the thread "ecu game on tv? gopack says twc" before the game was ever played, and everyone called me crazy then. Then we lost to ECU...

^^^^Hmmm... I'm sorry you have to bmc so much. Regardless if we are getting losses out of the way early or not, quit your whining. We have the same team as last year with the exception of Atsur and a couple reserves who were cut/graduated. Plus we have freshman phenom JJ Hickson and a couple of great transfer players, including Degand and for this game finally Marques Johnson. So you say Villanova, who is ranked 20th is the only team worth "arguing" being a strong team (a team we beat by the way, regardless if give me some Dough Cocklieb claims we didn't) . How about Michigan State? How about USC (who beat a very good Providence team? Basketball is not like college football. Upsets are inherent in this game. Just because ECU & UNO beat us does not mean our season is over. It means they got lucky, we got unlucky, they played well, we played poorly on that given night. Although the season is not a success so far it is not even 1/3 of the way through, we have not even played any of the really important games yet. No wonder you don't see anything that makes you think we can win the ACC tournament or "go deep" in the NCAAs. You obviously have never heard of the teams at NC State in 1983, 1987, or 1996. And you obviously didn't follow the team this past year, in 2007. Oh and another thing, how can you pass judgment right now when you haven't even seen the pack play in 2008? Sorry I just got a little amped up about your post up there, we have played like crap but will improve is my point.

How did he end up at Davidson? I realize he looks 17, but wouldn't being Dell Curry's son be a huge asset for getting offers from big time programs? He looked like a man amongst boys tonight. I was actually surprised that last shot didn't fall.

You kind of answered your own question. A lot of major college programs, especially ACC programs, didn't recruit him b/c of his size, which is really stupid. If someone can ball, size be damned. Spud Webb was a great player for us.

There may be hope in the future. Julius Mays is hitting over 45 percent of his three-point attempts this year.
